Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

She shakes her head. "Is that anywhere near Los Angeles?"

"Not far," Willow said. "About two hours."

"Oh," she says. "Then I don't know specifically of the town, but I know that far. I can learn the rest."

"And you?" Willow asked. "Where in England are you from? Anywhere near Oxford?"

She answers handwavily as to not be Jossed in book seven. "Not really near there. My school was in Scotland. I spent more time there, really."

"Oh," Willow said. "That's nice too. Did you wear lots of plaid?"

"Not plaid, no. We wore robes most of the time while school was in session, actually."

"They don't have uniforms here, do they?" Willow asked. She flipped through her paperwork. "I didn't see anything about that."

"There was nothing mentioning them," she says. "I'm sure they would have told us beforehand if we needed them."

"I just want to get to studying," Willow said. "I'm sure I'm falling behind on my classes already. I realize this is camp but there could be learning! There could be tests!"

Hermione blinks. "Camp? But... I thought there were going to be classes."

"Yeah, but none today," Willow pouted. "Oh well. I guess I should go to bed get my stuff up to my room. It was nice meeting you!"
