Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

Elle reminded Ainsley of some of her mother's sorority sisters. She smiled back.

"Ooh! I met some Delta's from NCSU at conference four years ago. I just love how they talked, all y'all and shugah, it was so Gone With The Wind." she siad as her eyes got wider along with her grin. "Are you here as a camper?"

"Yes," Ainsley answered, suddenly very aware of her accent. "I'm here as a camper, and I'm hoping to stay on once the school year begins as a sophomore."

"Yay! We're going to have so much fun this summer, I can just tell. I've been talking to all kinds of students, I'm a counselor myself, and anyhow the students all seem to be a little nervous so I think this little mixer is just the thing to get us all comfortable with one another and I just can't wait until we have campfires and outings and workshops and games! It's going to be terrific!" she said, nearly without breathing.
