Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

"Already?" He gave Joxer a vaguely shocked look. "Man, you must work quick. I met a couple girls today, but I don't wanna commit to anything yet, you know?"

"It's just a feeling," Joxer said. "I wouldn't say I'd been hit by Cupid's arrow quite yet, but I just got this feeling. I totally understand about the non-commital thing. I swear, Jett wouldn't even look at the same girl twice, if he had to."

"Whoever Jett is, I'm not sure that's exactly the right idea" 494 said thoughtfully. "I'm sure some girls are worth more than just one time around."

494 looked sympathetic, patting Joxer on the shoulder in a very manly way. "Now you've got the chance to show yourself to be the better man," he said encouragingly. "Unless he's here at Fandom too?"

"I doubt it. Dad would never get mad enough at him to send him all the way across the world. And... time," Joxer stuttered a little at the end there. The reality of the timeshift was finally starting to settle in his brain. "But thanks, Four-Nine-Four, hopefully I'll, uh, see you around?"
