Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

[OOC: All right folks, have at it!]

"Yep," he said, nodding. He looked at the dog. "Bruiser. What a...totally fitting name."

Bruiser looked up at him and nearly danced over on teeny tiny legs in order to sniff at his shoes. "You're the first person who's ever said that. Most people think it's a silly name for a tiny dog but I really think it's not size that matters, but attitude because you can always wear heels and shoulder pads but being confident and liking yourself isn't always the easiest thing in the world and even as a puppy Bruiser was just every mucha big dog and so I named him that and he's lived up to his name all his life." she explained without breathing, then looked at him and blinked while she waited for his opinion.

Greg stared.

"Right. I was just going for the amusing irony angle? But he's a cute dog, in any case," he said, smiling down at Bruiser. "How is he going to assist you?"

She looked stunned. "He's mu friend and accessory. We match...we're both Gemini vegetarians and he helps me out when I'm not so happy." she said with a look of vapid devotion as she scooped Bruiser up, "Don'tchumysweetiepuppyboi?" she asked as the dog licked her lips in a kiss.

"...okay but how does that help with counseling?" he asked, confused.

"Huh?" she said, startled from her puppykissy. "Oh, well, I'm running a workshop on fashion and expression. You should totally sign up, it'll be way fun." she said as she looked him up and down, "You'll learn about style, personal and...otherwise." she said with the sweetest smile ever.

"Um." Greg looked down at his clothes. "I kinda like how I dress?"

"OH!" she exclaimed, "I like how you dress too! I'm not out to change anyone, because that would be wrong and go against the rules of the bible. Cosmo says..." and she proceeded to talk and talk and talk about years worth of fashion advice she's learned from Cosmopolitan and other fashion magazines, as well as from her fashion degree education at CULA. Again with the hardly breathing as she spoke.

Greg just stared again.

Quietly.

It seemed easier that way.

The assault of perky chatter continued on, unbroken, until Bruiser yipped and stood against her leg. "Are you ready, baby?" she asked, leaving off in the middle of why well groomed eyebrows are a necessity for men and women. She bent over and picked up the dog and dropped him into her bag and stood up. "It was super to meet you Greg! I'm sure we'll see each other all summer. This is going to be, like, the best summer ever!" she said cheerfully and waved as she headed off into the crowd.
