Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

"We don't know. He has to make his case before the Council and stuff," Rory said, shrugging. "He said to tell you he says goodbye."

"Hunh." Biting her lip, Parker said cautiously, "And how are you doing with that?"

"He only left this morning. And last night was...fun. I'll miss him, but he's coming back," she replied almost confidently.

Parker nodded immediately. "They'll have to let him come back, isn't he teaching? How could they turn it down?" She grinned. "And I didn't have a chance to torment him at graduation. I say he has to come back just for that. Ha."

"He'll be back," Rory repeated. "Because he has to be. And at least I got to say goodbye this time."

"He can be taught. Yay." Parker smirked. "Right, then. No wallowing or ice cream until you hear anything, but do you want to hang out tonight? I am feeling inundated with new faces at this point, I think I'm going to bail for the common room in a while."

"I might see you up there. I'm having fun meeting all the new people, but I suspect I might burn out and go nap for awhile." She blushed. "Didn't get a lot of sleep last night."
