Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

"So have I," Elizabeth nods. "Well, had before I came here even. That does help slightly. Or at least that's what I found."

"Always good advice, I suspect." Cedric nods. "I'll be sure to prepare myself for the unexpected."

"I suppose so. Okay, I could prepare myself for the worst, then."

"It's not all doom and gloom around here, don't worry," Elizabeth says. "In between the various worst, we do have fun. What do you do for fun?"

"Sports," he tells her. "I enjoy other activities but sports is what I like best."

"Cool. There's a number of students who are in to that too. I like to run track, although I need to start running again more frequently. What sports? Cricket? Soccer? Rugby?"

"Any type," Cedric answers, still not quite ready to explain quidditch. "If it's a sport, I'll try it out."

"That's cool. You should try pyramid. It's a sport from the colonies... someplaces in space, I don't know exactly. We've got a few people from there, and one of them's looking to go pro in it."
