Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

She raised an eye to the term 'shiny,' "um I'm guessing that mean good right?" she asked sounding unsure, "so has anyone told you about...the weirdness here?"

"Very good," Kaylee said. "Weirdness? I'm from the future, so can't say I'm surprised there's weirdness here."

Paige smiled, "oh cool, when from? Earth's still okay right?" she asked.

"and yeah weirdness, as in zombies and snow monsters, it's not as bad as it sounds though," she added quickly.

Kaylee decided not to tell her about Earth That Was. "Oh, about 500 hundred years in the future."

She peered at Paige in awe. "Zombies and snow monsters? Can't be any worse than Reavers."

She noticed she didn't answer her question, still it was probably a different Earth to the one she and her sisters were from.

She noticed the awe, "well we all pull together when stuff like that happens, so it's not such a big deal really. What are Reavers?" she asks, yet again confused.

Paige frowned, "I've been attacked by demons," she said quietly, "whatever they are they can't be that bad,"

Paige bites her lip, "oh not here," well it was Dark Lighter that attacked her here, so she wasn't actually lying, "here's actually pretty safe, generally speaking."
