Welcome Party for the Summer Students and Staff

Despite the slightly overcast sky, the weather is still good for welcoming all of the new arrivals for the Fandom High summer session. The graduation decorations (and gremlin debris) have been cleared from the front lawn, and replaced with tables of information packets, food, and drinks. A series of signs point the students to the information table first, where they can pick up their room assignments from the office drones, and then continue on to the food tables to mingle.

And no, there are no inflatable gremlins around today. It's far too early to start scaring the new folks. That's what the mingling section is for!

"Wasn't your choice, huh?" His lips quirked in an ironic smile. "Yeah, I know that feeling."

"Do I even wanna know?" Conner shook his head. "Probably not. Doctor O said this place could get confusing."

"Yeah, it's...you know what, I don't even want to talk about it, really. It's kind of a mess. What about you?"

Conner rolled his eyes. "My high school lost my senior year transcript, can you believe that? So now I gotta do it all over again, and I don't even know if I would've graduated if it wasn't for Ethan and Kira and Doctor O. Not that I think it was an accident," he added, leaning in and lowering his voice to a conspiratorial tone. "The principal was evil. Literally."

Conner grinned and offered her his hand. "Sounds like you and me have something in common then. Nice to meet you, Z."

"Yeah, there's so many people around. I'll see you later." When Z turned away, she mouthed 'Conner McKnight' to herself in a fangirlish sort of way, then collected herself and went about her business.
