Anakin, back to himself, was at the front of the Danger Shop. The Danger Shop was set up to look like an upscale yoga studio, complete with the soothing sound of water coming through the speakers and some slightly unplaceable scent in the air.

"Hello," he said.

"As you can see, today's class is considerably less cat focused," Ahsoka said, as if this was a deep and terrible tragedy.

"There's also no sand," Anakin added, shooting Ahsoka a look. He'd been covered with the stuff when he'd turned back.

"Meditation is rising above the small distractions." Did Ahsoka's cadence sound just like Anakin's then? Yes.

"You're hilarious," he said dryly, then tilted his head. Why did he hear cat sounds over the fake water?

It was probably just the beanie cat draped over one of the students shoulders like a very inconvenient scarf. Probably.

Anakin, being the direct sort, turned to Ahsoka. "Master Tano, why do I continue to sense cats?"

Ahsoka considered the question. "Because the ways of the Force are mysterious?" And the Danger Shop was conveniently glitchy.

Anakin looked unimpressed as cats emerged to take up residence next to the students. "They truly are. Clear your mind. Ignore the cats."

Which may be harder than they thought, because the cats definitely weren't ignoring them.

For a class about meditation, Arden was sure learning a lot about how to be distracted from meditating while still looking like she was meditating.

She should probably try harder, but the problem of trying to meditate while being afraid of meditation was...well, pretty obvious, actually.

But maybe learning to fake it was the first step to learning to make it?

Was it mean of Cal to place a cat in her lap while she had her eyes closed? Probably, but he was gentle about it, so that had to count for something.

Well there went any attempt at even faking meditation. Her eyes opened and she glanced down at her lap, her whole body quivering with the effort to not yell, "KITTY!" while, you know, other people were meditating.

She tried to glare up at Cal, but it was kind of hard to glare when there was a kitty in your lap.

Cal picked up another one of the cats and pitched his voice into a high whisper as he brushed against Arden's arm with one of the cat's paws. "Good job! Breathe in and out and focus on the feeling of my cat brother rising and falling."

Arden tried not to giggle at the ever-so-helpful 'cat' advice.

She pitched her voice lower than normal as she whispered, "I don't know if I wanna be in her lap if she freaks out again, though." But she was breathing as suggested, so...bonus?

"Aww, she doesn't look like she's going to freak out. This is a safe space with no expectations," Cal-as-a-kitty said. "And you're doing great, Arden. You just have to relax. Enjoy being a biscuit." Cal pressed the cat's paws to her shoulders in a left and right motion and tried not to laugh too loud.

Arden was fighting a rearguard action against laughing and it was only not wanting to be shanghai'd into Shenanigans (like, more than usual) again was giving her any defense at all.

"I didn't know that meditation came with kitty massages," she whispered. "I might need to write a letter of complaint to my main meditation tutor about the lack of massages in previous lessons." She was petting the cat in her lap and, huh. There was less tension in her posture now, who knew?

"Well, maybe your main tutor will bring his new kitten to your lessons," Cal said with a grin. "She's still a little nervous around people, but you seem like you'll make her feel comfortable." After a moment he added, "I don't know how she's going to feel when I come home smelling like other cats, that might be a thing."

"You did get--" Arden immediately quiets because she had nearly almost squealed and that would definitely get the Dean's attention, but she looked excited, eyes wide and giving him a bright grin. "I don't think the Danger Shop cats will leave a scent, so you're good there."

She reached for one of his hands to squeeze.

Cal snickered softly and squeezed her hand in return. "I'll make sure you meet. Her name is Patches and she's the cutest thing in the whole world. But you have to be relaxed and chill to not scare her."

She was going to get more kitty biscuits to help.

Poor BD-1. Been less than a day and already demoted from being the cutest thing in the whole world in favor of the kitty.

"I'm very relaxed and chill!" Arden protested in a whisper. "Just...not during meditation!" Or in a bunch of other circumstances.

But she wasn't arguing against more kitty biscuits. And was still petting her lap kitten.

But playing with cats was so much nicer than meditating!

Although petting a purring cat steadily was sort of meditative, wasn't it?

Jon was absolutely going to let as many cats sit in his lap as wanted to and would fit.

Meditation while petting cats was surprisingly relaxing!

Talk to Anakin and Ahsoka!
