Fandom Library, Wednesday, July 17th
Arden was shelving books when she noticed that there were softly glowing mushrooms growing out of the shelves and on either side of the aisle. "Oh shit, is there some kind of fungus problem?" Arden muttered, following the mushrooms to see if she could find the leak or whatever that had led to the mushrooms sprouting up. "Better than mold, maybe?"
She'd only gone a few dozen yards when she noticed that the lights were growing dimmer, the way forward shrouded in gloom and then fading to actual darkness. The mushrooms were getting larger, too. Before they'd been the size of her thumb. Then her hand. Now several of them were up to knee-height. Another few feet and she could swear she could hear singing, juuuuust out of earshot enough that she couldn't make out the words, just a beautiful tune.
One step. Two steps.
Was that...her name? Had somebody called her name?
"Nope!" Arden said, backing up. "Absolutely fucking not. Got trap written all over it. Fuck this noise entirely. Miss me with that shit, thanks."
And with that, she spun on her heel and strode right back the way she came. She didn't stop until she was back at the circulation desk, making a sign warning people to avoid the mycology section.
This seemed like a good problem to bring to Mr. Constantine's attention. Arden felt entirely comfortable declaring it above her paygrade, not to mention that playing hero was for other people.

Talk to the Aide
She intended to survive this horror movie, thank you.
Re: Talk to the Aide
(This thread brought to you by the fact that the OG District Donuts is one of my favorite places in New Orleans because it is amazeballs and I only remembered there's one in Vegas today.)

Re: Talk to the Aide
Was that angels singing or was it just the peach donut? Hard to say.
"And perhaps you could take one to Kamala as well?" If she felt like eating a donut, or indeed anything ever again, post-hákarl. "You both live in the boarding house, yes? I'm afraid I don't know which one she'd like best, but there's blueberry cheesecake, coconut cream, peach crumble, red velvet, and this one is 'sangria,' whatever that is." Lydia helpfully pointed out each kind of donut as she named it. "I still don't understand 'red velvet' either, but it certainly is red."
Re: Talk to the Aide
Though it might be the leftover angelic choir from the peach donut.
