Rosa felt like she should earn a reward, if she managed to get through this class of yoga on the beach, considering her class roster, without mentioning anything about spicy meat.

Let's see how she does! On her side was the fact that, honestly, the least she had to interact with the students, the better, but there was always that inner troll who liked to test the limits of that...

But anyway.

"Right," she said, "so, today, we're moving onto the Vishuddha chakra, or the throat chakra. No points for guess where this one's located. And, as you'd probably guess from a chakra located in the throat, it's all about self-expression and communication. It's associated with your ability to express your thoughts and emotions clearly and concisely, which ties in with being honest and authentic. So when you find yourself at a loss for words, or closing yourself off from people, or just lying straight through your teeth, your Vishuddha chakra is closed. I would argue that knowing when to keep this chakra open and when to shut it down is an incredibly important skill and don't necessarily see a closed throat chakra as a necessarily bad thing. I'm sure plenty would argue with me on that, blah blah blah, balance or whatever, but anyway. The color of the throat chakra is blue, it's associated with the apparent element of sound, and it's symbol is a sixteen-petaled lotus. Let's get into some moves that'll help you open that throat chakra when you want it open."

There was a pause.

"Yes, I hear the joke in there, too, we're all adults here, let's try to be mature."

You know the drill. Hit those sun salutations if you're going to be good about it, or just do your own thing because you're a rebel who spits in the face of the whole point of doing a regular routine warm-up for effective yoga practices.

The moves being focused on today to help with your throat chakra include things like downward facing dog, which you should all be familiar with thanks to the sun salutation, and a modified version of it in the three-legged downward facing dog. If you really want to show off, you can do a standing split or you can try and do a few jump through sequences. A mountain on tiptoes with a twist is good for this chakra, too, as well as balancing with a variation of one legged mountain poses. A spinal roll down flow is a good one, too, as well as revolved standing forward twist.

But the best is obviously going to be a firefly pose and its standing variation.

Arden was just gonna not look at ANYONE in class today, thank you.

Gladio was definitely favoring the downward facing dog variations on this one, especially with how good they felt on his back. But he knew balance was not his strong point, so he was working on several of those one-legged mountain poses. Fitting, mountain that he kind of was already.

Rosa will be doing a pilgrim flow variation of the sun salutation for this one, but you cool down however works best for you.

Nell chose to do a corpse pose - after reaching out to hold hands with Gladio.

Gladio snorted faintly in amusement, and, making a big, groaning show out of the effort to lower himself down right along with her, then stretched and and let his hand fall into hers, smirking faintly up at the sky.

"Well," he noted, deciding he was going to be a chatty corpse for extra obnoxiousness, "this is nice."

"So very nice," Nell said, a little louder than necessary. "I'm so glad to be here with you."

She did some overly dramatic eye-fluttering when she saw Rosa looking their way.

"Well, you know what they say," Gladio mused, feeling like it was a miracle he could even keep his grin tempered, as he looked over at Nell and waggled his eyebrows and would happily send some of those waggles Rosa's wat, too. "The couple that yoga together, stays together!"

"Oh, that's so true," Nell said, sitting up a little to reach out and touch his face. "I don't know what we'd do if we weren't here in yoga together!"

Rosa just rolled her eyes at the both of them and focused on her own cool down. She knew she should have stabbed those squirrels this morning when she had the chance.

But let's see who had the last laugh once Rosa got home and settled in to see what crap was on Lifetime later with a glass of wine...

Or, alternately, take some time to work on closing your throat chakra by....not.

Lifetime has been advertising a new upcoming movie called "Yoga Teacher Killer" and I always think of Rosa and this class.

WAIT, but is the Yoga Teacher the killer in this scenario, or is the killer only killing yoga teachers??? I have to know!!

I have no idea!! If I find out I'll tell you!
