It was not just you, it was a little buggy in the park this morning. Welcome, everyone, to Anakin Skywalker's Salute to Cicadas themed game today!

You were probably not nearly as thrilled about it as Cal and Arden, who'd helped set up said theme. Ohhhh, it was gonna be great!*

"Welcome!" Anakin called out as people arrived. "Today we will have only two teams led by Cal and Arden." Their shirts might be a clue about what horrors fun awaited you! "There is a fascinating scientific event happening on this continent right now, and while it is not impacting us fully, I believe we should embrace learning about the fascinating cicada, which has any number of useful traits."

He smiled. "For instance, did you know that it's extremely nutritious?"

Anakin, why are you like this.

"We will begin with a relay race and end with a game of skill!" Was Flip Cup really a game of skill? Guess we'll find out! "Listen for your names! You may not use your powers."

"LEG-GO," Stewart corrected, with a shift of his shoulder that lead a snake of his head back toward Cal. "It's considered an adjective, not a noun, and therefor functions as a base plural. But, yes, they are sharp and tiny and destined to wreak havoc on the unsuspecting feet. And as for a strategy...?"

Stewart squinted at the task ahead of them. "Timing," he said. "Rhythm. If we're both maintain the same steps, at a....reasonable pace...can you keep a beat?"

"Ah, I see," Cal said, because he'd been around enough unique people in his life that he knew when to smile and nod and not ask a lot of questions.

"I'm not known for my dancing skills, but I know how to follow a beat," he said. "Are you good at making a rhythm?"

"Pfft." Stewart scoffed, seemed to pause, and then scoffed again. Another pause, and another scoff, as if he was used to having those scoffs met with equally decisive scoffs, and thenhe fixed Cal with a look of pity that such a question would even need to be uttered, and shook his head.

"Am I," another scoff, "good at making a rhythm? Is a bear Catholic? Does the pope shit in the woods? Is Gretzky the best over-all statical scorer in all of NHL history?"

With that, Stewart pulled out his phone, brandishing it like a weapon, and quirking both a grin and an eyebrow at Cal.

"....one moment, actually, " he admitted,dropping his attention to the phone because it wasn't like he actually had something queued up there, but,after a little bit of fiddling and typing, he resumed his previous position and dramatically pressed play.

"How's that for a rhythm?"
