It was not just you, it was a little buggy in the park this morning. Welcome, everyone, to Anakin Skywalker's Salute to Cicadas themed game today!

You were probably not nearly as thrilled about it as Cal and Arden, who'd helped set up said theme. Ohhhh, it was gonna be great!*

"Welcome!" Anakin called out as people arrived. "Today we will have only two teams led by Cal and Arden." Their shirts might be a clue about what horrors fun awaited you! "There is a fascinating scientific event happening on this continent right now, and while it is not impacting us fully, I believe we should embrace learning about the fascinating cicada, which has any number of useful traits."

He smiled. "For instance, did you know that it's extremely nutritious?"

Anakin, why are you like this.

"We will begin with a relay race and end with a game of skill!" Was Flip Cup really a game of skill? Guess we'll find out! "Listen for your names! You may not use your powers."

"Ah! My kind Lady Belle!" Graham beamed back at her, preening slightly under the title before, of course, doffing his hat and sweeping into a proper knightly bow. When he straightened, he fitted it back on his head and resumed his grin. "How are you? How's everything been going? Are you here to do the Wednesday shenanigans?"

"I'm quite well," Belle said. "And even better now that you're here!"

You were getting hugged, Graham . It was happening.

"I am here to engage in shenanigans, yes."

Oh, no! Anything but more hugs! This was terrible! Just awful!

Don't mind Graham as he very gladly hugged Belle back, with that little extra squeeze everyone was getting because these hugs did prove as a pretty strong reminder of how much he'd missed everyone. Sure, sure, he'd made new friends among the knights and him and Acorn and Whisper had a weekly DnD game with Kyle and Larry now, too, but it still wasn't quite the same as all his Fandom friends.

"Then I'll be sure to cheer you on," he said, "if I don't wind up in them myself! I kind of hope so...but it'll also be great just getting to see everyone while I'm here even if I don't get called up."

"How are you?" Belle demanded. "You look well. It's everything going well? I want to know everything! And I'll cheer you you as well should you be called."

Graham had to chuckle a little at that. "I'm doing well, " he assured Belle. "Very well, although, I have to admit, being a knight so far is a lot more just guarding a portcullis and filling out paperwork than I expected. Newbie grunt work, no doubt. I'm sure I'll get these boots into action soon enough! And that's still an adventure all it's own, figuring stuff out! But I really do miss everyone....I'm really</i[ glad I got the chance to come..." He took a moment to take note of all the cicada stuff, "<i>bug</i> you guys today!"

Belle let out a delighted giggle at that. "I have missed you! And your wordplay. And Triumph, of course."

She reached over to offer the noble steed some scratches.

"Are you only here for the day? Or can you stay longer?"

"I'm planning on staying a few days, actually!" Graham was pleased to report....as Triumph gave off little chirruping sounds to let Belle know he was pleased by the scratches. "Amaya's letting me stay while I'm here, I've got to talk with her about some official Daventry business, even. So you could say I'm here for work as well as pleasure! But I should be heading back by Saturday."

"I'm glad we can keep you for a few days at least. Have you had any particularly good adventures to tell me about? Perhaps we could get together and you could tell me?"
