Cultivation and Gardening: Final, 4th period

Zhaan was smiling genially, wrapped in a loose grey robe, one bunny slipper poking out from beneath. She had headphones draped around her neck, music sounding out tinnily. "Hello, class. I hope your day has been going well." She was glad to see they were all over being children. Not that they weren't still children in her eyes, but they weren't quite so small now.

"I hope you all remembered to bring your plants for me to look over." Handing out the finals, Zhaan gestured gracefully, "You have several days until the end of this class period to finish. I should have your grades by Friday, if you'd like to stop back here for one last meeting."

Settling back down at her desk, Zhaan began scribbling notes in the margins of a book.

Walter signs in and takes cookies and milk with a very fresh feeling of nostalgia.

Pippi signs in and hmmmm cookies!

Now, normally, Sharon would go for the tea. But then, it's been a strange week, and while she isn't four anymore, zomg no, she's gonna go with the cookies and milk. 'Cause, comfort is good. And finals are scary.

Macbeth, of course, made a mad dive for the cookies. He knew chocolate from a country mile away.

Vyvyan, Walter's violent, seems to be growing well. It is a (hopefully) healthy vivid blue and waves its little clubs around energetically.

"It plays with my puppy a lot. They play ball, which it seems to prefer to my reading it stories." It's quite possible that Pup is better company for the plant than Walter is.

"It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but it's been interesting." Vyvyan was too peculiar to not want to keep and take care of.

Pippi shows off a tank with several balls of gillyweed floating in it.

"They like sea shanties."

"Thank you Professor Zhaan!" she said taking out a bowl which she used to scoop up some of the water and one of the gillyweed balls. Which she then offered to Zhaan.

Macbeth has brought in the only one of his plants that hasn't turned brownish and died a horrible death. Actually, his lettuce is quite healthy, a happy shade of green. Apparently the time spent sitting in his upside-down tam'o shanter has done wonders for its... er... mood.

Or something.

Placing her plant on the desk, Sharon tried to ignore the way it kind of dropped and looked a little gnarled. That was natural, she was sure.

"Telling it stories," Sharon smiles, animation brightening her face. "About life, and home, and my parents who I miss even though my mother is suddenly NOT DEAD. School."

1. Name two of the differences between plant and animal cells.
Plant cells contain chlorophyll and they have cell walls that make them appear rectangular.

2. Do plants need sunlight?
Yes.

3. True or False: All plants are docile.
There's a doodle of Vyvyan and a big FALSE

4. True or False: Humans require plants to maintain their basic mental balance.
True

5. How would you rid your garden of weeds?
Weeding in the short term, careful planting in the long term.

Short Essay 1: Detail a little of what you've learned in this class.
I have learned the basics of preparing ground for plants, planting them, and caring for them after they are planted. I have learned that not all plants will just sit there and take it while people walk all over them, too.

Short Essay 2: Describe what you'd do to gain a plant's trust.
Don't be hostile or disrespectful. Be respectful of its territory and its needs. Anticipate its needs and provide for them. Basically, just do what I'd do for a human, with a plant in mind.

3. True or False: All plants are docile.

False

4. True or False: Humans require plants to maintain their basic mental balance.

True.

Long sea voyages go better when there is a lime tree or two abord.

5. How would you rid your garden of weeds?

Uproot the plants I do not want growing in a certain area.

Short Essay 1: Detail a little of what you've learned in this class.

Pippi goes on a bit about the scientific stuff they learned before Zhaan took over. She also discusses how plants need as much attention as a person.

Short Essay 2: Describe what you'd do to gain a plant's trust.

Pippi writes the story of an epic quests.

1. Name two of the differences between plant and animal cells.
Plant cells seem to be smaller and more cylindrical than animal cells, which are often located in dungeons and the like, and have fewer exits. My plant seems to be quite comfortable in its cell. I, on the other hand, prefer to avoid being jailed inside one.

2. Do plants need sunlight?
As do we all.

3. True or False: All plants are docile.
Speaking from experience, false.

4. True or False: Humans require plants to maintain their basic mental balance.
... True.

5. How would you rid your garden of weeds?
Underhandedly, preferably not while their relatives are paying any attention, and more preferably while they sleep.

Short Essay 1: Detail a little of what you've learned in this class.
I have learned that some plants grow remarkably large, others, not so big. Also, I have a more healthy respect of trees now than ever before, as I understand more about the capabilities that they possess.

Short Essay 2: Describe what you'd do to gain a plant's trust.
I have found that letting the plant sit wherever it wishes to in my room and playing some good, sturdy bagpipe music works well. Sharing my secret plans for world takeover talking to it works nicely, also.

1. The water reservoirs in plant cells are larger, and shaped retangularly. The cell nucleus isn't at the center of the cell, in plant cells, it's usually the water that's there. Er. That's only one still. Um. The green thingies are in plant cells, but not in animal.

2. Most of them do.

3. Er... False.

4. I suppose they do.

5. Nuclear bombs, just like we used on the humans Weed killer, or maybe find out about predator species.

SE1: That plants are moody, and strange. That life is odd. That you need to talk to your plants, and make sure they get sunlight, and also try not to drown them in water.

SE2: I wouldn't blow it up.
