Fandom Library, Wednesday
Arden was not feeling particularly productive today, and so spent most of her time when not busy with other tasks on her phone, looking up pictures of tattoos.
Look, sometimes you just wanted to make a permanent change to your body because you were feeling bad about other things. Arden was way too protective of her hair to go that route. Look, she was willing to trust other people's reviews of random tattoo artists, but she wasn't about to trust her hair until she found a hairdresser that met her standards. That just made sense.
The library seemed interested in helping though and every time she went to shelve books, new art books with paintings of birds seemed to have found their way onto the stack. And, you know, who was she to turn down the sentient library's assistance?

Talk to the Aide
...Or something?
Re: Talk to the Aide
'These' were Teach Yourself Elder Futhark! (because only one half of this pair got the Allspeech, and it wasn't Don) and The Foster Theory: Space and Time Travel by one Dr. Jane Foster, which someone was going to read before he shoved his foot in it again, Thor.
Re: Talk to the Aide
She took the books, and scanned them into the system. "That's the Dr. Foster we have on the island, right?" she asked. "Oh! And Elder Futhark!" She gave him a slight look, like she was unsure if she should mention something. In the end, she went for it, though looked apologetic the whole time. "Excuse me, sir," she added, "I'm sure you know what you're about, but um. Just in case it would be helpful, if you're looking for the language the Vikings used, that would be the Younger Futhark. The Elder had kind of died out slash finished evolving into the Younger before the Vikings really got big." And then quickly, "But like I said, you probably know what you're about so just, like, never mind, sorry."

Re: Talk to the Aide
Arden did look curious about his project, but people who spoke vaguely about their plans probably didn't want nosy students asking questions about it, right? Though now she was wondering if it was related to his interest in Dr. Foster's research, since she was also, you know. Thor.
Still, she couldn't help but mention, "A friend of mine was something of a research assistant for one of the big names in Nordic mythology, at least in my, um. World. That's how I know any of that stuff. I got to listen to a bunch of conversations about it and the Elder and Younger Futhark came up a lot."
It helped that her friend, the 'research assistant' was Duke, a several thousand year old djinn who remembered the fall of Ur and remembered the early history of most countries clearly.
Re: Talk to the Aide
"Oh, really?" Don asked. "I might want to confer with your friend at some point, depending on how my own research goes." Did Duke remember the creation of Asgard, though, because how the heck that had happened was a lot more interesting to Don than the fall of Ur. "Speaking of which, is there anything, uh, special that I need to do to gain access to Special Collections?" Because he already had the feeling he was going to need some really weird magic books.
Re: Talk to the Aide
"Talk to Mr. Constantine," Arden said immediately because Special Collections was way above her paygrade. "He'll be able to let you know how - though I'm guessing he'll want the details about why."
