Office Hours/Anthropology

Well, even though he now only has the one anthropology student left, Daniel's still in his office, just in case.

He's grading Kiki's paper, and only getting slightly distracted by his list of things to do.

Which is getting longer and longer.

"Not when you were asleep," Daniel pointed out and then winced. Damn, he hadn't meant to tell her that's when he took the pictures.

"But I'm not Sam!" he said, a little reduntantly.

"Daniel!" Janet was possibly panicking by now. "I can't believe you! Wait, while I was asleep? Liz was there too. You took pictures of me and Liz as wee six year old?"

"But what if she finds out about them?" Janet's expression suggested that Sam had better never see them.

Daniel blushed. "Maybe?"

"Sam doesn't use my computer!"

Daniel's desk, meet Janet's head. "Ow," muttered Janet, her forehead resting on Daniel's desk still. "She's going to kill you. Worse than I'm going to kill you."

"And she'd better never do so after this!"

"Meep!"

"Why would she be using my computer? And even if she did for some reason, she wouldn't go looking through my personal files..."

"Daniel." Janet sat back up and looked at him. "If I had pictures of wee six year old Daniel sitting on my hard drive, would you be paranoid about Sam finding them?"

"I'll password the folder as soon as I get home," Daniel promised quickly

"Oh, thank goodness," said Janet, relieved. Maybe he'd forget the password when he was drunk. ~~Of course, if those somehow ended up in the hands of the Asgard just to embarrass Janet, I wouldn't be surprised.~~

"So how was your day?" she asked, smiling at him.

Daniel sighed, thankful for the change of subject.

"Boring," he admitted. "How about yours?"

"Almost nothing at all has happened," said Janet. "Though I found out that Professor Dream is leaving."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Daniel said. "I don't know him, but he seemed to be a good teacher. It seems like a lot of teachers are leaving."

"This place is more than a little crazy," said Janet. "And he was a very good teacher. But he said that he's got to take care of things at home."

"That's perfectly understandable," Daniel nodded. He grinned. "I wonder if that means that languages is free for next year?"

"I suppose it is. I don't know if they've hired anyone new yet," said Janet. Then she frowned. "Though you realize that if you start teaching languages, I can't take it any more."

Daniel frowned too. "Okay, yes, that's true. And I'd probably have to put up with Elizabeth as well, I'd presume."

"Put up with?" asked Janet, raising one eyebrow. "Come on, she doesn't tease you that badly, does she?"

Actually, this was Liz. She probably did.

Daniel just looked at her, his eyebrows raised.

Janet smiled sheepishly. "All right, she gives you hell, I'm sure of it. You poor man."

Daniel sighed melodramatically. "I deal with it. But I'd rather not ask for trouble by having her take one of my classes."

"Yes, well, it's not like you don't have any reason to deal with it," said Janet. And then she blushed faintly. "But you're right; Liz isn't going to give up languages."

Daniel just looked down at his desk, slightly uncomfortably. "I think I'll just stick with archaeology and/or anthropology. Safest all round really."

"Um. Sorry." Janet looked down. "At least those are classes I don't need to take. I can learn enough about those subjects just listening to you."

"I don't go on that much? Do I?"

"I don't mind when you do," said Janet. "If it's a problem, I tell you, remember?"

"Good," Daniel smiled at her. "Because I'd hate to be continually boring you."
