Two changes about Anakin and Ahsoka from their last class to this one were pretty obvious. The first one one was that they were outside, at least today, instead of inside a classroom. The other was they seemed to be genuinely enjoying each other's company.

"Welcome to Self-Defense," Anakin began with a quick smile. "As I hope you knew when you signed up, this will be an interactive workshop."

"We won't be able to teach you everything in just a few weeks,” Ahsoka added, much more relaxed than the start of last semester. "But you should leave us with a solid foundation to build on."

"While hopefully not boring those of you who already have some skills," Anakin added. "We'll start with warmups, then check on your punching and kicking techniques."

You should probably get their names, too, Anakin.

"We'll be getting your names too," Ahsoka said. "We may also give a demonstration to ease you into things."

Lies, not one person in their entire lineage was capable of being anything other than extra.

"Just a small one," Anakin agreed.

While you run past Anakin and Ahsoka because running laps is good for you!

"Running?" Ben said, making a face as he raced past. "Really?"

"I make you carry a giant rock too, if that would make it feel more like home," Anakin offered sweetly.

"That's not necessary," Ben said immediately. He waved at Ahsoka. "Hi, I'm Ben!"

"Hi, Ben," Ahsoka greeted him cheerfully. "It's good to see you."

If Eleanor was running well, it meant that her primal instincts were kicking in, because otherwise, she was an absolutely pathetic runner....which had been one of the main reasons her grandfather held such disdain for her. Cowardly, fearful, and not even a good runner.

So everyone should consider it a good thing that she was jogging by slowly, out of breath, and with more awkwardness than seemed it should fit in her slim body, as she gasped out, "Eleanor! Zarrin!"

"Welcome, Eleanor," said Anakin, not running.

Jon wasn't even going to try to talk while running. "Jonathan Sims," he introduced himself, before starting off at more of a brisk walk.

Look, he was good at speedwalking. He was shit at running unless chased.

"Get your heart rate up!" Anakin called after him.

"It always is!" Jon yelled back.

"Drink less coffee!" Anakin yelled back.

"I drink tea!" And now he was having to slow down to snark. This was the opposite of productive!

"Drink less tea," Anakin amended, "and keep going."

"I'm going," Jon muttered, as he picked up speed again.

Somehow, It's less about the tea and more about the terror seemed like too much explanation while ~~running~~ walking fast.

She was a fool. A fool who should never had thought 'you know what would help me feel better? Knowing how to defend myself!' Because now it was barely past nine am, her shirt was covered in porg tears, and she was running.

"Arden Finch," she said as she jogged past.

Between Paintball and Self-Defense, she'd end up a marathon runner by the 4th of July.

"Hello, Arden," Anakin said, watching her technique carefully.

"Hello, sir," Arden said. "And also, I had a porg sobbing on me because of you, today!"

"The porg needs to toughen up," Anakin said.

"That just sound cruel for no reason!" Arden called back.

Were they done running yet?

Not until everyone was thoroughly miserable! It was character building or something!

"Or he could just move to a different section of the island to cover," Anakin said.

Oh, running was not something Belle did unless chased! This was more of a sedate jog she was doing as she called out "I'm Belle!"

"Hello, Belle. Make sure your heart rate gets up!"

Vi settled into an easy jog, because, well, she generally got a lot of cardio.

"Vi."

"Hello, Vi," Anakin said.
