Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Whoever worked the weather magic around here had done an excellent job to make sure things were nice outside for all the new (and old) residents of Fandom. It was warm and sunny, but not so humid that people would melt. There was plenty of moddable food and drinks, places to sit in the shade, and more than enough nametags to go around. It was time to celebrate the start of the summer!

Re: General Mingling
Which was why Gale was lingering near said tree with a plate of food, "My apologies, it appears they are fresh out of beholder jerky for you," he teased.
Was it teasing? It was hard to say if you, by chance, happened to actually know what a beholder was.

She offered the hand not currently holding an overflowing and should be tipping food on the ground plate.

Re: General Mingling
She looked him over appraisingly, and appreciatively - this was Charlie after all - but he was undoubtedly well outside her age break, alas. "Maybe another time, too. But maybe your Aunties know mine."
Re: General Mingling
But a lovely coincidence of the naming convention!
Re: General Mingling
Gale's all went by Gale regardless of their parent.
"I'm guessing you're a magical being of some sort yourself?"

She drew a quick charm to change her hair color to a literally flaming red, the back to her purple again.
"Or, you know, I can do it with my guitar or a whistled tune. Guitar gives better control though. Don't have to worry about breath support or a swallowed bug or anything."

"Oh, it is, in fact, her favorite treat," Gale replied. "Aside from a pigeon."
Which she devoured most voraciously after hunting them like the perfect predator she clearly was.
Re: General Mingling
Liliana laughed, "Well, what a fine introduction this is. I've barely said hello and have already managed to insult the lady's taste in snacks."
She would, however, agree most wholeheartedly with the plan to hunt down as many pigeons as possible - though she meant the jumped-up versions that Serra had seen fit to plague the Multiverse with.
"My manners must have gone a-wandering," she added. "Welcome to the island. I'm Liliana Vess, a pleasure I'm sure." She extended her hand to Gale, even if at least half of the introduction had been directed to the most perfect creature in the tree.
Re: General Mingling
Tara flicked her tail back and forth and sniffed haughtily. Because she was a cat in all by name about these things. And less than prone to speaking in front of people she did not yet know.
Re: General Mingling
No, Ajani, not you. Sit down.
"What a lovely companion you have, though I'm afraid I cannot place her creature type," Liliana said. "And what is it that you did in Waterdeep, Gale? A professor there as well?"
Re: General Mingling
Who wore an earring with the symbol of Mystra in it. But as to his status as a chosen... well, that was a matter of gossip back home.
Re: General Mingling
Re: General Mingling
"Ah! The subjects I will instructing," he said with all due enthusiasm. "I will admit my talents lean mostly toward illusion, but I am no slouch in evocation or abjuration. Might I inquire after your inclinations?"
Re: General Mingling
"I'm a necromancer, darling," Liliana said. He'd also likely clock her as a conjurer, considering so much of her skillset involved summoning creatures to fight for her when she wasn't just raising them up from the ground, but that was one of those places where their magic differed. "I also used to be a cleric in a healing order, but we all dabble with ridiculous things when we're children, don't we?"
Re: General Mingling
"I once considered being a cleric," he admitted, just really making his relationship with Mystra that much weirder. "But alas, my talents lay elsewhere."
In fireballs.
"A necromancer though. Not a magic I have dabbled in, personally. But, to each their own."
Re: General Mingling
"And I certainly have made it my own," Liliana agreed with a smile. "So now do tell me, darling, what makes an Archmage from - Watersdeep, you said? - decide to come teach school on a tiny island on this charming yet fairly unknown plane?"
Re: General Mingling
Because let him get settled in before he dumbed his whole ex situation on you, Liliana! Unless she had suggestions for getting back in Mystra's good graces. Because that was totally on the agenda.
Right?
