Delivery for rover

*back in rover's office, a box sat on his desk.*


*squeezing in his doorway with a rubbery-squeak, he backed up and shut the door.*

*rover regarded the box again.*

*the box was from jerusalem_s

*he circled his desk, regarding the box.*

*the box sat there.*

*the box did not tick.*

*the box did not drip ooze.*

*rover leapt up on the desk and bounced on the box once.*

*when he landed on the floor, the box was opened.*

*wary, rover regarded its contents.*

A battery powered lava lamp, standing a little over two-feet tall, sat in the box. It was already turned on, shedding sluggish, red light as the blobs slid slowly back and forth, up and down.

A note was affixed to one side of the shifting display:

Okay, so maybe we didn't get off on the right foot... or circular rotation. Whatever. But everybody likes porn, right?

*rover sat quietly, watching the blobs move back and forth in a slow motion dance.*

*he vibrated once.*

*reading the message, a truce suggested and accepted.*

*rover made a note to thank the professor.*

*rover vibrated again.*
