Library [5/1]

This is the last day Parker's going to be opening the Library. She has really mixed feelings about that. Partly because she'd like to hide under the Circulations Counter after some of the things she did this weekend.

The Library is open for all your research and book-return needs, 'cause today is also the last day of amnesty before Zero and her mallet are on a quest tomorrow.

Parker's gone for half the period to turn in her Russian paper, but she's back afterward, looking pensive and spinning on a spinny chair.

"I may need to kill something," Rory announced, wandering in exhaustedly in a manner not unlike her three year-old toddling over the past weekend.

Parker waved to Rory. "You and me both. Or several people. I told Miho I wanted to be just like her when I grew up." She cocked her head. "On the plus side? I don't need an annulment this morning."

"Ha. Hahahahahahahahahaha," Rory laughed humorlessly. "I got married in seekrit," she said, pronouncing the last word in a hushed, reverent imitation of her weetiny self. "Doesn't count if the parties in question are three and nine respectively, right?"

"Only if you're Moonies, I think. And only Marty was a Moonie this weekend." Parker shook her head in disbelief. "What the hell. To quote Jaye. Where did you come up with that? Teeny Rory was nuts. Way, way imaginative, but nuts!"

"I've always been a hopeless romatic," Rory said, dramatically pressing a hand to her heart and fluttering her lashes. "It was just a little bit more pronounced when I was tiny."

Parker completely cracked up for a few minutes, hooting with amusement. "I'd say. You made Constable Fraser marry Principal Washburn! You did the whole ceremony! Ohmigod, it was funnier than Princess Bride!"

"That's, if I recall correctly, Principal and Constable Pretty Mountie Princilady Hat," Rory corrected, blushing and facepalming.

Parker dies giggling all over again. "I hope someone got pictures of all that. I really really do. Even if I'm in them."

"And you! With the food and Anakin and ahhh!" Rory said, pointing and laughing.

Putting her hands over her face, Parker said, "He threw a french fry at me!" And then she chortled. "And I completely melted down about it. I think I was throwing tantrums off and on all weekend."

"Hey, I started crying on the radio," Rory pointed out. "I don't even remember why."

"Were you the one that threw a shoe at Marty? Because I was listening to the podcast, and Aeryn sounded way too pleased with you after someone did that." Parker shook her head. "I'm just amazed you could all figure out how to work the buttons. Then again, it was John and Barbossa and V, they've done it enough to know how everything works even while little kids, I suppose."

Sam stalked into the library and went straight to the counter. She was too confused to be embarrassed. "Heavy drinking tonight at Caritas. Anyone with me?"

"SO there. I have to see if Jarod's recovered from having to deal with a teeny itsy-bitsy girlfriend this weekend." Parker shook her head. "I didn't see you once, but I did hear you on the radio. Sounded like you were having fun then, but I assume it got stranger from there."

"Yeah," she smiled, "the radio was fun. And the podracing was awesome. It's just been a ~~long~~ long time since I was six. Suddenly being back to, this," she gestured at herself, "it's throwing me a little."

Especially considering where she'd been when she was readultified. Not that she was going to mention anything about that to Parker.

"I heard about that from the podcast. Along with what a mean, mean bossyhead I am, thank you, Barbossa. I'd love to see what you and Anakin made. If he's speaking to me, after the fight we had." Parker's grinning, and not too worried. "And yes. As glad as I am that I can leave Esme in her room, it's-- disorienting. To say the least."

Sam started giggling. "If it makes you feel any better? I called Da--er, Doctor Jackson a meaniehead yesterday."

"I haven't seen good old Bananakin yet today," she said, laughing outright now, "but did I hear the radio right? People got married?" She snickered, "and you? Did you get married to your knight in shining armor?"

"Idiot Boy probably had it coming. Heh. God, I think I'm really glad I didn't run into many adults while teeny and bossy." Parker facepalmed. "And I owe Professor Tick an apology. I ran away from Detention!"

"Lots of people got married. Rory's idea. She got Constable Fraser to marry the principal!" Parker snickered wildly, then said, "No, not me, since it was here, and thus no Jarod to marry-- and oh, god. I told Quinn Morgandorffer she should date him!" She thumped her head on the Circulation desk, looking traumatized.

"He wouldn't let me have coffee," Sam snickered, "and I really can't blame him. Actually, good for him not giving me any."

Sam patted Parker's shoulder. "It could have been worse?"

Very good for him. I take back my last Idiot Boy comment." Parker sighed. "Yeah, I could've gotten married to any of the boys milling around the ceremony, or bit someone. Or woke up somewhere worse than Angel's room with half our friends. Heh. I didn't spend one night in my room. Saturday I was in a fort with Alanna."

Sam very definitely wasn't going to mention where she'd spent last night. "You woke up in Angel's room?" She also wasn't at all upset that she'd missed sleeping in a fort with Parker and Alanna. Really.

"We were playing tag last night until we all collapsed-- Angel, Alanna, me, Callisto, Logan, Marty, and Belthazor. Top that for weird. Half of them can't stay in the same room together as adults. I think we were just having too much fun." She grinned. "Callisto and Angel are married," she sing-songed. "Because he kissed her on the cheek!"

"Wow. I guess it does take being an adult to really mess things up," Sam mused. A weird expression probably crossed her face, "and is that all it takes to get married these days?"

"If you're five. Or seven. Heh. Although I bet Constable Fraser and the principal are wondering the same thing this morning." Parker chortled. "I feel exhausted, honestly. I almost want to take a nap."
