"Welcome back to our final class before exams," Lana said, as if they were going to have a written exam next week. Look, you never knew. "Today we thought we'd give you the chance to pose your own moral dilemmas. Are there things you've encountered or struggled with in your own life? Do you have questions for us about any of the things we've gone over or our own experiences? Today is your time to shine."

Atton pulled up a chair, around the desk, and parked it in front of the class. He sank down on it and eyed them all.

“Shoot,” he said. “We’ve been torturing you, now you can torture us. Enjoy.”

"You're braver than I am," Atton commented. "I don't trust Fandom food."

"Statements like that just make me glad I'm spending the holidays back home," Atton told her. "… By which I mean regular Earth. Not the nonsense in our universe."

"You could always come home with me if you want our universe's nonsense," Lana answered cheerfully. She held out the gelt to him if he wanted some. "Twice the diplomacy, half the being able to kill people who annoy you."

"Thanks, but if I bail on the NYE show, Dane is going to kill me," Atton said, waving away the gelt.

He did not trust island chocolate.

"You'll just have to get shot at without me."

"You're going to a show?" Lana asked, curious.

She waved off the rest. "I rarely get shot at. These days I'm mostly sending other people to avoid being shot at."

"Playing a show," Atton corrected. "Some of my roommate's friends are throwing a big bash in some artsy repurposed factory somewhere, and they want us to play. Biggest thing he's gotten us so far."

"Obviously," Atton said, shrugging one shoulder. "A little punk, a little pop, a little prog, and a lot of metal..."

"What is prog?" Lana asked. "I'm not familiar with that one."

"Artsy rock stuff. Our drummer is a big fan," Atton said. He sighed. "Ever since we got the stupid idea to write our own music, well, she's been bugging us about incorporating some of that."

"Artsy sounds my speed," Lana said. "Do you not enjoy it, or do you object on principle because your drummer likes it?"

"Eh," Atton said. He shifted in his seat. "It's not quite my style, but her favorites have some okay songs. Hell, if you drop by Caritas tomorrow, I might tackle one of them."

He badly wanted an excuse to do 'Aenema'.
