The class was back on the mountain again, and, if you were anything like Gladio that day, you had a nice hat to keep your head warm! But, realizing that the Santa hats were here to stay that day, he decided to whip up a class real quick to sort of reflect that. Sure, he didn't know much about Christmas anymore, but he did recognize the hat, and he knew the guy drove a sleigh, and so it just stood to reason that today's class should be about sledding.

So the slope was a good, gentle, long one, and there was a wide variety of sleds to choose from, from those classic wooden ones on tall runners, to those deadly metal round ones, to a variety of plastic ones, as well, to suit any sledding preferences. There were even a few toboggan style ones, and Gladio was definitely encouraging everyone to partner or group up to give those a try, too.

Plus? The sledding was the fun part, and the trudging back up the hill was definitely the physical part, but at least you won't need to worry about leg day this week!

And you wouldn't even have to worry about losing your hat, no matter how fast you go!

Sleds or Santa hats if you got 'em!

Gladio will openly admit that he's not one to go too much into the details of aerodynamics or drag or anything like that on what makes one sled move downhill differently than another, so he's just encouraging everyone to try a few of them and seeing what they like, and if they do all manage to do a toboggan run together, everyone will definitely get extra points.

Experience the euphoria of a 10-second sledding run and the drudgery of the much longer trek back up the hill just to do it all over again! But come on. You're getting to spend your morning pretty much being a kid playing around for a class, are you really going to complain?

Nell found the sledding marvelously fun. The speed, the snow, the exhilaration of it all. She didn't even mind trudging (running!) back up the hill.

All right, this was actually...not too bad! Even if the trudge up took far too long. At least it made it so it wasn't too cold.

There were a few blown-off Santa hats in Jon's wake, though.

His one complaint about the Santa hats is that red isn't really his color. Shame they couldn't just be black...

And at least one student was waiting to talk to him after class.

Which worked out pretty well, really, since there was definitely one student Gladio was hoping to talk to after class, too.

Especially after seeing how sledding class? Had been a totally great idea.

"I think I lost count," he informed her when he went over to her, with a small laugh, "of how many times you actually managed to get down the hill, there."

"A lot!" Nell said cheerfully, cheeks still delightfully pink from the cold and exertion. "It was so much fun. Who knew?"

"Well," Gladio snorted a little bit, "I didn't exactly pick it because I thought you guys would hate it."

He really hadn't expected Nell to enjoy it nearly as much as she clearly did, though, and he really did love to see it, his grin having more of a pleased, proud sort of warmth to it rather than its usual cocky bent.

"Maybe we can squeeze in at least one good toboggan run together before we have to ship out of here in case the next class needs the shop."

"Oooh, that would be fun!" Nell said. She was on her feet and ready to go almost before he'd finished speaking. "Let's go!"

Gladio had to laugh at that enthusiasm, shaking his head a little and wasting no more time, lest Nell just start getting impatient with him, as he went to the sled options to figure out which one was going to be able to handle one end being significantly heavier than the other best.

"Oh, and, hey, speaking of 'let's go'," hell yeah, this man was a master with a segue!, "what do you think? About us trying to give that birthday get-away another try this weekend?"

"Oh right," Nell said. "We kind of lost that weekend didn't we? Well, if you still want to, I'd love to go away with you."
Let's be honest, she'd be happy to do pretty much anything with him.

Like I'm gonna know this mod exists and not use it today, pssh.
