With the weather still seeming to be pretty nice and fairly warm (especially by his standards), Gladio felt it would be a good idea to take class outside this week, and out to the preserve, where he would meet them all with a faint grin on his face that suggested he'd been getting a few things set up before the start of the class period.

"Today," he announced, "we're going to take it a little easy with a game, but it's a game that should involve some hiking, some climbing, some running around, and maybe even a little bit of strategy and espionage, depending on how you guys decide to go about it. We're going to do a little bit of a modified version of Capture the Flag, which is a game where, ideally, you split up into two teams, and you work with your team to...well, capture the flag of the other team. Since we're a pretty small class, we're taking it in more a free-for-all direction. I've marked out an area of the woods here and, within that area, there are four flags hidden: one red, one yellow, one blue, and one green. And whoever manages to get the most flags by the time I blow this whistle wins for the day.

"Now," he said, "a few ground rules. To keep things civil, if someone else catches you with a flag, all they have to do to take that flag is tag you on the shoulder, and you have to give it up. So not only do you have to try and find the flags, but you gotta keep your competition from knowing you have them or from stealing them. If you get caught, you gotta give up your flags. Pretty simple, though, right? I'll be monitoring so if there's any questions or issues, you can come right to me. And, obviously, since we're out in the woods, some of you," now who in the world could he mean?, "might have some terrain advantages, but hopefully, in the spirit of sportsmanship, we'll keep that sort of thing in mind.

"The flags are already out there," he said, "so really, all you guys need to do is take a few moments to stretch out and warm up, and then go capture 'em. So good luck."

Gladio opened his mouth to make some comment about how that was probably a question better suited for Danny, seemed to remember who he was talking to, stopped, and rerouted.

"Probably not as good as me," he admitted; sorry, Steve, but, you know, it was kind of his thing. "And, hey, look." He pointed to one of his arms as if just noticing for the first time that there was something there other than muscle. "Wouldn't you know it, I got a bird tattoo right here. Think I'll meet the height requirements?"

Nell hmmmed and made a show of attempting to measure Gladio's height. "Looks just about right. Maybe if you took your shirt off I'd know for sure."

"I think I may have created a monster," Gladio noted.

Not a complaint. In fact, it was said partially into his shirt because, while he said it, that shirt was already being pulled up over his head, and, as soon as it cleared, he shook out his hair and straightened his shoulders to make it that much easier for Nell to reach her decision on the matter.

Nell laughed at the comment, then took a minute to take in the whole picture. "Ah yes," she said. "You are exactly the man I've been dreaming of spending the day with. Who knew?"

"Definitely comes as a big shock to me," Gladio grinned, tucking that shirt into his back pocket a little (along with the fourth flag) for now, "but I'm happy to fill in the position. What do you wanna do?"

"Make out," she said promptly with a teasing grin. "At least at some point. But I also have stew simmering at home and a lovely warm house. So perhaps a walk in the woods and then a return to my house for a hot meal and more snuggling."

She tilted her head mischievously before adding, "With the cats, obviously."

Gladio had to bark out a small laugh at that little addendum.

"Well, yeah," he agreed, snorting now too. "Obviously. Wouldn't want them to be left out of some of the best these arms have to offer.

"Sounds perfect," he added, the cockiness in his grin softening as he did.

"How's your balance?" she asked, leaning in, "Not going to fall out of the tree if I kiss you?"

Gladio took a moment to check and then lean back against the trunk of the tree still branching up over their heads, wrapping an arm around Nell to bring her in, close and tight, as he did.

"That's definitely a risk I'm willing to take," he informed her, grinning.

"Daring," she mused, "I'd forgotten to mention that in my list." And, of course, she was more than comfortable in the tree and had chosen one that would work decently for this purpose.

She leaned in to kiss hikm once she was settled. "Mmmm... perfect."

And if Gladio found himself too distracted to keep his balance well enough, at least he knew he'd be good to break Nell's fall if she went with him.

If he was worried, though, it definitely didn't show in his kiss back, his other arm joining the first one in wrapping around her.

"Wouldn't mind staying up here for a bit just like this," he said, probably needlessly, especially since it was followed by more kissing.

"I don't have anywhere to be," she murmured between kisses. "Though you won't get my shirt off out here..."

"That's fine," said Gladio, though one of his hands did seem to be trying to make a convincing argument in how it was moving against her back. "Just gives me more to look forward to for later."

He had more than enough shirtlessness for the both of them until then, really.

Nell laughed against his mouth, even as she wriggled under his hands. "Doesn't feel like you're waiting."

"Maybe I just like the feel of this cloth," Gladio countered with a chuckle. "It's a nice top..."

But after a little bit more of a massage there where his hand hand lingered, and moved it around so that it was brushing back her hair behind her ear.

"Better?" he asked, his other arm tightening just that little bit more to make up for the extra security lost there.

"Well..., maybe if your hand was under my shirt... you could hold on if something happened - or oh heck, I just want your hands on my skin," Nell said, shifting to make that more possible.
