Phys Ed; Thursday, First Period [09/28].

Before the gremlins had left the gym on Tuesday, Gladio, inspired by a truly terrible idea that you could all absolutely blame Steve McGarrit on, pulled one aside and had a few questions for them, which was why when the students filed into the gym that Thursday for class, they would find a small group of gremlins there as well, wearing legwarmers and sweatbands and already starting to stretch out on a mat.

"Morning, guys," Gladio greeted, lacing his fingers together and doing a little bit of a stretch over his head before shaking it out slightly and giving them all a grin that was slightly apologetic, but mostly just way too pleased with itself. "We're going to be doing something a little different today, and don't worry too much about the gremlins. They come in peace; they've got their gym memberships on the line, so they're....probably not going to misbehave, but they are going to teach us all something today.

"Dance," he said, and that grin maybe sparked again, "is a great way to stay fit and active. Not, like, you know, courtly dances or things like that, but there's a lot of types of dance that, when you do it for a good hour session of practice, will really get you moving and sweating, and it turns out these gremlins have been taking advantage of that to keep fit and agile with a mix of cardio and Latin-inspired dancing called zumba. So today, they're going to teach us about it, because they're much better equipped to do that than I am, that's for sure."

And he never had issues with deferring to...erm...the experts.

"So take about five, ten minutes, stretch and warm up, and then we'll pass it over to our guests for the day."

It's important to stretch before any physical activity, after all!

Although if you spend your warm-up time also wondering if this is the result of your instructor getting bit, well, that's fair, too.

Jon was warming up as far from the gremlins as the space permitted. And possibly abusing the Eye just a little bit to, well, keep an eye on them.

The gremlin instructor doesn't really speak English, so you'll have to probably pay pretty close attention as he breaks down some of the basics and other good beginner routines to get everyone started!

Just try not to get bit!

Was Graham very skilled at this sort of dancing? Debatable.

Was he absolutely giving it his all and having a great time with it? Undoubtedly!

He could definitely see why this was a great workout, and was genuinely trying to master some of these moves so he could maybe whip them out at the next party or school dance!

Nell was a little uncertain about some of the moves they were doing as they were a little... provocative? Then she just got caught up in having fun - and who wouldn't be enjoying themselves, watvhing Graham's glee?

Right. Jon could do this. Probably. He thought. Look, he refused to be less coordinated than a gremlin.

And concentrating on getting it right gave him enough to think about that he was less worried about other things for a while, so it wasn't all bad, regardless.

This was definitely not something that Alara had experience with, she was a little awkward at first but slowly she found herself quite enjoying the different style of dance.

Who had to fend for himself that morning, which meant Cup Noodle^TM for breakfast, so he'd in a pretty good mood today.

Unless someone gets bit, then things could get ugly.

After class a breathless and laughing Nell found Gladio. "No zumba for you?"

"Instructor privledge," Gladio informed her with a grin, "with a little extra behind the whole 'keeping an eye out so no one gets hurt' this week."

But he was going to take a moment to appreciate that breathlessness and that laugh and the color on her cheeks from the exertion...

"You had a good time with it?"

"And no gremlin bites," Nell said with a smile ~~as she hopefully did not joss herself~~.

"I enjoyed it more than I thought I would," Nell said."Dancing wasn't exactly church approved and I think they'd approve of this even less. Which might be part of why I liked it, but also it was fun. I felt free, but there was a structure to it."

"I figured," Gladio said, "it might take some getting used to, but once you sort of let the music and the moves take you, it's just a really good way to let loose. And get a good workout in, too."

Plus, gremlins.

What more did you need for a nice easy class?

"It is," Nell agreed. "Maybe a bit much for on my roof, but a lot of fun!"

"We'd end up salsa stepping right off the edge," Gladio said with a grin. "Not the worst way to go, but I think we better stick with what we know works. And what we're pretty good at."

She couldn't help her smile. "We're pretty good at a lot of things."

"It's almost as if we make a really great pair together, or something," Gladio said with a grin. A grin that quickly lead him into leaning in closer to kiss her for additional proof.

Nell was more than happy to kiss him back. "I think you may be right about that."

"'Course I am," Gladio agreed, confidently, the grin now coming with a wink. "Might not be right about everything, but I know I'm spot-on about that."

"And Cup Noodle," she said with her own grin.

She went up on her tiptoes, but not to kiss him. Instead she whispered in his ear. "Thank you for taking a chance on me."

And here Gladio was going to make some silly little quip about Cup Noodles^TM, but then that happened, and all he could do was breathe out with a soft, fond smile and tilt his head in toward hers until their foreheads were touching. "Thanks for taking one on me, too."

Which, he wanted to point out, was the much bigger leap of faith and demanded far more strength and growth than he could ever even think of having, but he knew she'd just deny it, so, for now, he'd let her have that one.

She was getting another kiss, though. That couldn't really be helped.

Nell smiled against his lips. "Who would have thought when you were bringing me home that we'd end up here?"

And then she kissed him back. Some things just had to be said.

"You're not still trying to convince me that you leaving the clinic before you should have was actually a good thing," Gladio grinned into that kiss, "are you?"

"If I hadn't," Nell said between kisses. "You wouldn't have come by to bring me food later."

She shrugged with a smile. "Might not have been the smartest thing I did, but then again... I prob'ly would never have dared to just start talkikng to you."

"Yeah, well," Gladio was just going to narrow his eyes skeptically at Nell, "you do make a pretty convincing argument. Although, I was on my way to the clinic already, to see how everyone was doing. Maybe something still could have kicked it off there, just, you know, in a different way."

Nell shook her head. "I never would have talked to you in the clinic. I probably would have pretended I was asleep because I was too nervous to talk to anyone."

Especially a very large scary looking man!

"Well," Gladio mused, "you were talking to Prompto a bit at that time, right? Because you guys went to school together and he wanted to start that club for all of us with the time displacement, maybe he would have gotten that going, we'd start talking and getting to know each other more through that."

"It's possible," Nell said.

"Though maybe I'd have connected with Ignis over our love for cooking," she teased. "Might be lucky you saw me first."

"Well," Gladio sort of had to point out, "I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have had to worry about him having seen you first, but, maybe you did. Maybe he invites you over for dinner one day, and there I am, and I introduce myself, and...."

He trailed off, shrugging, letting the rest fill itself in.

Nell giggled. "You wouldn't poach," she said. "I'd just have to pine away quietly."

And Gladio had some pretty solid evidence that Nell was absolutely right about the poaching, gave her that skeptical look again and shook his head.

"Still should leave the clinic before your ready to," he said firmly, and before they just caught in a neverending loop, he deftly changed the subject.

"You got any plans after this?"

Nell just laughed, then shook her head. "I stopped by to see Steven at the museum earlier, so my day is free."

"You wanna go do something?" Gladio asked, simply, smiling, with a bit of a shrug.

"With you?" Nell asked. "Always. Even if we don't do anything the answer is yes, if I get to be with you."

"Well, that was easy," Gladio noted with a very pleased, very amused chuckld. "Whaddya want to go do?"

"It's a fairly decent day," Nell said. "We could go for a walk in the woods," and do some kissing, "and then maybe so to get a coffee or something."

But Nell! Coffee was where Ignis went to avoid Gladio!

"Perfect," he said, and now made it even more so with another kiss.

Coffee was also to be had at Nell's. No one said they had to go to a cafe for coffee!

Nell laughed. "I think you'd have said that for I suggested and I'm just fine with that." And with the kiss.
