The Shed of Holding was back in the center of the park, so clearly that was a terrible sign. Anakin also looked very pleased with himself, so...run.

Ohhhh, too late.

"Today, in our last team building exercise for this summer, we have the final obstacles to overcome!" Anakin said through the microphone. "You loved these last summer--" did they though? "--and so I have brought them back again. Listen for your name. You cannot use powers today for any of the events. You can, however, take suggestions from your teammates!"

Though how helpful a teammate will be while you're painting a picture of an alot while riding an alot was anyone's guess, really.

Well, Vi was immediately regretting all her life choices here.

"Hey, turn off your high beams, god," Steph pretended to complain, holding her hands up dramatically in front of her face like she was being blinded.

"Sorry that we can't all be devoured by ducks," Vi lightly retorted.

"Somebody's jealous," Steph said cheerfully, like someone who was going to pay for this by being unexpectedly whisked off her feet and absconded with later.

Anakin was going to ask for a dramatic exit, and Vi couldn't think of anything more dramatic than carrying off her lady love.

"I mean, they're kinda cute." ~~Which was why her player had a half-finished shopping bag in the same print.~~

Former drama department nerd Steph Gingrich wasn't going to disapprove of dramatic gestures, okay?

"They're actually adorable," she said, grinning. "Unlike that monstrosity you have on."

Vi wouldn't be doing it if she did think Steph would appreciate it on some level.

"It is pretty...bright."

Just wait and see how much she did appreciate it, Vi.

"It's a fucking abomination," Steph replied, reaching out to adjust Vi's collar.

That was only going to encourage Vi to do it again.

"But soon it'll be an abomination without sleeves," Vi said, grinning at her.

Perhaps that was Steph's intention!

She finished fiddling with Vi's collar and made a doubtful noise. "Oh, do you think your arms are going to be enough to distract people from staring into the garish abyss?"

Truly Steph was an evil genius with plans within plans.

"I'm more interested in person than people," Vi replied, oh so casually flexing.

Any one of her players, present or former, would say the same.

"Uh huh," Steph replied, deeply appreciative despite maintaining a dubious expression. "Hope you didn't think that meant you were going to escape getting shit about the polyester neon monstrosity for the rest of the day anyway."

And probably had, at great volume.

"That makes it sound like I chose it."

Vi had probably even heard some of them doing exactly that, either in the store or over Steph's laptop speakers.

"Getting stuck with something like that is one of the risks that comes with us choosing to do this shit, right?" Steph asked, reaching to sling her arm around Vi's waist. "Could've been me, in which case I would fully expect you to give me all the shit in the world about it."

She was even getting decent at distinguishing between the anguish of a newbie and someone who should've known better.

Vi slid her own arm around Steph's shoulders. "I would never make fun of you for being a victim of circumstance," she lied.

It was often a subtle difference, which just went to show how frequently this happened.

"Right. That's never, ever happened," Steph said dryly as she finished buttoning up her duckie shirt.

Vi would almost be jealous, but she knew Steph had her own plans within plans for her.

"Never," Vi cheerfully agreed, toying with the lowest button on Steph's shirt.

Which only sometimes involved the evil-GM variety of her plans.

Steph playfully swatted at Vi's hand, with no intention of actually pushing her hand away. "You have never given me shit about a single thing, no matter how much I deserved it."

Vi was completely undeterred, leaning in to steal a kiss. "I've only ever been perfectly supportive of you," she agreed shamelessly.

"You have," Steph agreed graciously, leaning into her. "And sometimes that support comes in the form of absolutely dragging my ass when the situation calls for it."

"I can't help it if your ass looks especially good being dragged," Vi replied, checking out said body part.

Steph sighed. "This is what I have to live with," she told any birds that might have been in the vicinity. "I chose this."

"You did." Vi beamed at her. "Just like I chose you and all the shit you give me "

"Exactly." Steph reached up to ruffle Vi's hair affectionately. "Because we are far too ridiculous for anyone else to have to deal with."

Vi leaned into the touch, eyes half closed. "Love you too, dork."
