"My thanks to Jane and Raiden for taking over the team-building exercises while I was--" there was a long, awkward pause, "--indisposed."

As a cat. An angry, gray cat.

"But I am myself again and eager to resume our activities!"

Even if said activities looked suspiciously like giant cat toys. Sometimes it was harder to shake off the transformations than others. "You will run in teams through this obstacle course--" of giant cat toys, "--and then get tuna for a reward."

He blinked, catching that part as being not quite correct.

"And then you shall receive no reward other than the satisfaction of a job well done!"

Better!

"Listen for your names!"

"She thought they'd kidnapped me," Stark explained. "But it was a house. Not raccoons."

"A house kidnapped you?" Anakin repeated. "How?"

"It's not really a house. It's alive... It wouldn't let us out but Travis got me out on Saturday...Everyone got out. But it's staying."

Stark sighed.

"It hurt me. Hurt them. But Summer has been taking care of me, since then. That's helped. She's helped."

"So it can suck new people into it next time?" Anakin guessed, frowning. "Why would it stay?"

If a house showed up to audit a class, it was gonna get awkward.

"I'm glad Summer's helping, though."

Maybe the house could do with an ethics class?

"So it can be lived in? I don't understand it," Stark said. "But it's happening. I'll just be avoiding it. I think."

For a while at least.

"Summer's been very good. Making sure I'm all right. Keeping me company so I don't have to be alone. She, we..."

He paused. Was this the sort of thing you told a friend? An Anakin sort of friend?

"You--" Anakin prompted, eyebrow arching up.

Stark looked down at his feet, suddenly feeling very shy about it all. "I told her I love her. And she...she said she loved me too. So that...that part is very good."

"Truly?" Stark asked, looking up. "Thank you. I...I am too."

Even a friend who was the sort of friend you spent an hour every week trying to cover in paint. Because that was true friendship!

"I'm glad you've found someone," Anakin said with a little smile.
