More Yoga; Thursday, Second Period [07/20].

"This week," Rosa, as usual, was not wasting any time in getting the 'lesson' part of this 'class' over with as soon as possible, "we're looking at the third chakra, the manipura chakra, which is sometimes also called the solar plexus or the navel chakra, and literally just means 'place of shining gem'. This is the chakra where confidence and power is said to come from, so...you know that feeling like you could just take on the whole world? That's due to this chakra being balanced, and when you feel doubt, insecurity, and a lack of direction, that's said to be an indication that you need to work on this one a little. Honestly, I can't relate. My solar plexus chakra is always balanced, if that's the case."

It certainly seemed to be in good shape today, anyway.

"This chakra is believed to be located right above the navel," with a hand on her stomach to demonstrate, "and is associated with the element of fire, the color yellow, and good digestion, actually. So maybe it wasn't that burrito you had from that sketchy food truck the other day, but instead an unbalance manipura chakra.

"The poses associated with opening up this chakra as usually related with harnessing the energy of the sun, so we're already on the right path by starting with our sun salutations. We're also going to focus on a classic seated forward bend, bow pose, half spinal twist, upward plank pose, and cobra pose. A lot of ground work on this one, so let's warm up, and then have a seat and we'll get started going over those."

The classic sun salutation is actually pretty relevant today and not just an excuse to not teach the students other possible warm-ups!

The classic sun salutation was also something Gladio had really been looking forward to every week now. Granted, the same could be said for the class as a whole, but it was nice, to just take a few moments to tread over that familiar territory and think a little bit about the chakra they'd working with that day. Not that he really believed a lot of that stuff, but he did always find it pretty interesting.

Have a seat and work your way through some ways to open up that chakra to the sun or whatever for more confidence, reassurance, and better digestion!

These were maybe less difficult for Nell than she'd expected. Some were a bit awkward, but she was very flexible and a lot stronger then she appeared.

Did Rosa want the entire island to hear this man's poor back crack with all those half spinal twists? Because this man's poor back was definitely cracking as he twisted into one of them, which made his huff out a laugh and grin faintly before switching to do the same to the other side.

"Guess I need to maybe do this one more often," he said, passing that grin and the commentary along over to Nell oh-so-casually.

But damn. It did feel pretty good, so he might have to really take himself up on that offer.

"Maybe you do," she said with a smile. "Sounds like you could do with a good back rub, too."

Nell was not nearly so musical as she stretched and turned, but the whole reverse plank thing was awfully awkward.

And there was a good, long pause there, one that could thankfully just be filled in with clearly focusing on trying to get the poses right, as Gladio debated with himself over whether or not he should say the first thing that came to his mind with a comment like that.

Good thing yoga was all about balance, right? Because he was currently weighing quite a few pros and cons against each other in that brief moment, but ultimately came away from it with thinking that maybe, honestly, he really shoudn't be thinking about it even half as much as he did.

So he asked.

"Is that an offer?"

"Might could be," she said a little shyly. "If you were interested."

She been good at them once upon a time with Leah when she was so sick and all her bones hurt.

"Been a long time, but pretty sure I still remember how."

Gladio's soften grin went along with a faintly amused breath, at the confirmation that he'd definitely been thinking about it too much. But sometimes, it just felt like he'd spent so much energy trying to keep along the very edge of something precarious that he'd forgotten just how much surer the footing was now.

"Well," he said, figuring he could also work that in nicely with something else that had taken up a lot of space in his brain lately, "I think...you should at least let me buy you dinner first."

"Buy me dinner?" she said, looking startled. "What - not that I mind, of course, but what does one have to do with the other?"

Yeah, Gladio kind of figured the cultural context on that one would be a little lost on Nell, and he chuckled a little, though not unkindly, as he tried to think of the best way to explain.

Because he'd definitely figured that he would be explaining.

"It's kind of a joke," he said. "Not the dinner part, I'm very serious about that, but it's a thing people say, you know? Blowing an innocuous thing like bumping into someone or a back rub up into something more then it is, and then teasing that, if you're getting that up close and personal, decency dictates there should at least be a date or something first."

Although there was a little kernel of truth in that, and he was pretty sure they both knew that...even if only one of them really realized it.

Nell blushed. "Oh. I hadn't realized that - the teasing -" She let out a breath in a huff and then smiled at him, even if there was just a tinge of uncertainty there.

"Guess maybe you'd better then, if my hands are going to be all on you." And then even she realized that something that could be made of that. "I mean," she was flustered now, but in a kind of happy way, because if she were honest with herself, and no, she wasn't going to admit this to you, Gladio, not at this time, she did kind of like the idea of being able to have her hands on him, even if it was just to massage his back and even if - " - and your shirt will be on, Mister Amicitia," she said sternly and a bit louder than she'd intended, even as she laughed softly to herself.

Rosa was going to have to start bring in her earplugs to this class, and pray they were as effective against disgusting puppy love as it was blacksmith snores.

And now at least Gladio felt like he and Nell were....well, if not on the same page entirely on that offer, at least they were in the same book.

"Now that's something," he said with a grin, "I don't hear that much anymore."

He'd been wearing so many shirts lately, too! Even the one from yesterday! Even after Steve even took off his!

Nell couldn't help but laugh. "I'm sure you look," well, remarkably handsome, "quite nice without it, but for now..."

Gladio looked fucking great without it, but that was hardly breaking news.

So he just grinned at Nell for a moment before shifting to move into a cobra pose.

"For now," he agreed.

"For now," she said again with a smile. Then deciding to be daring added. "But then you'll definitely need to take me to dinner first."

And blushed.

"So," Gladio said, pushing up with a slight grimace that reminded him that, shirtless or otherwise, he could probably use that back rub much sooner rather than later, "when's a good time?"

Nell shrugged. "The only evening I ever have plans is Tuesday."

"Funny," Gladio huffed slightly, "I have pretty good plans Tuesday evenings, too. How 'bout this weekend, then?"

"I just happen to be free all weekend," Nell said with a smile, "so that sounds just great to me."

"Saturday?" Gladio suggested. "Pick you up at maybe seven?"

"That sounds perfect," Nell said, then hesitated, "Is there anything I'm supposed to do or wear or am I okay the way I am?"

"You're great the way you are."

Gladio really couldn't help himself with that one.

"Any requests on where to go?"

Nell blushed and laughed a little at that. "Oh you!"

She considered and then shook her head. "I've pretty much only ever been to The Perk or the pizza place unless I was traveling with a class. And I like pretty much everything. So, surprise me."

There was a pause before she added teasingly. "Even just Cup Noodle is fine with me."

"We could only be so lucky!" Gladio said with a huffed laugh of his own, and an even bigger grin now. "But I'll think about it, see what might be good. Maybe get some recs from Iggy."

"I trust you," Nell said. And she did. In so many different ways.

"In any case," she added with a smile. "If we don't like it, we'll just have to try again?"

These were...not exactly Jon's strong point. The cobra one he could do!

...yeah, otherwise he'd mostly be overbalancing a lot.

Get back up on your feet to do a few more sun salutations, or just insist you're cooling down with the corpse pose. Rosa won't judge.

Okay, no, she will, but also, it's a free country/yoga class.

Nell did a few sun salutations, but also spent some time enjoying the corpse pose

Because you apparently want to risk being shown exactly where your solar plexus chakra is located with the help of Rosa's fist straight into it.
