Office Hour

CJ is sitting at her desk writing emails. Dare to disturb her.

Dearest Jack,
I don't know where you've gone, but I know you're around and safe and that's enough. If this ever finds you I just want you to know you're my boy, I love you, and nothing in time or space will change that.
Love always, Mom

Dearest Ten,
I can't sit here in Fandom anymore and wait for you. If you get this, I'm going back to DC and staying with Carol for a while I think. From there I don't have a plan...no plan for perhaps the first time in my life. I hope one day I'll find you, but if I never do I want you to know that these were the best months of my life, and I'll miss you for the rest of my life.
Love, CJ

Dear Gil,
You've barely been gone and I miss you terribly. This is just to let you and Sara know that if you need to reach me you can do so at:

CJ Cregg
c/o Carol Fitzpatrick
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington, DC.
20502

Dear Boys,
I'll be stopping in Alexandria on my way to DC. If I can, I'd like to stop in and see you. If you don't get this, maybe you'll be in for a nice surprise.
Fondly, CJ

Dear Shane,
There's been no word, no trace, nothing to tell me where you might have gone. I wish I knew. I could rest easy if I just knew you were safe. I'll never stop looking, babygirl. Never.
Love, Mom

TO: Fandom High Administration,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me a chance to make a difference in the lives of our student body. Teaching here is an experience I won't soon forget. Once the term is done, I'll be moving on. I will return my key for my classroom, the building, and my dormroom to the office on Sunday before I go.

Sincerely,
CJ Cregg, Speech Communication

Dear Adam,

Parker has finally gotten up the nerve to ask CJ about Jack. Now she just has to figure out a way to start the conversation.

She knocks on the door during CJ's office hours, in between classes. "Hey. How's it going?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-25 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker doesn't twitch like Marty but she wants to. "Not quite yet. I still have a Russian essay to finish. How about you? I heard something about no final in 301? Is that fair? Sheesh. Get done early, head to the beach..." She grinned.

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-25 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker's head jerked up. "You're leaving Fandom?"

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-04-25 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker relaxed a little when CJ mentioned Jack, and folded her arms. "Yeah. I was actually going to ask you about him. I've been wondering where he was, and no one said anything, and I was afraid to ask, so.... But I'm glad you're going looking for him." She pushed a hand through her hair. "I'll miss you, though."

After Parker

Maia knocked on the door just in case C.J. was busy and didn't want to be bothered.

Maia stepped in all the way and sat down. "I just...well I wanted to thank you for being such a great teacher this semester and for everything you did for me." She said very fast and nervous. She hadn't talked much with C.J. recently outside of class.

Maia swallowed hard. "Your going to leave aren't you?" She said softly looking down at her feet now.

After Maia and Parker

Boone knocked quietly on the door, hoping CJ wasn't too busy...

"If you're sure." He entered the room, standing awkwardly, before putting his hands in his pockets. "What's up?"

"I, uh, came to drop this off, actually." He grinned, setting a thin crimson envelope with her name printed neatly on the front. There was the logo of the Mandarin Oriental Spa in D.C. embossed in the right corner.

After Parker, Maia, and Boone

John schlumped down the hall, not taking any pains to pick up his feet. It's probably irritating enough that professor type peoples would get irritated enough to ask one to stop.

"A-whaa?" John is ever so eloquent when lost in thought and interrupted.

"Um, no?"

"Um." John looked sheepish. "I was looking for Maia. I saw her down this way, and needed to talk to her about something."

"Not watching TV in the lobby tonight, Professor?" he asked, totally changing the subject.
