"Welcome, everybody!" Lana greeted them at Portalocity. She was out of her usual Earth clothes and back into her more usual grey and green armor. "I hope you all got my email this weekend, but if not, you should be fine. Please keep an eye out in future for my mail; I'll be letting you know in general the type of climate and area we'll be going to, so you can dress appropriately.

"Today, though, we're going to Odessen. It's my home these days, when I'm not in Fandom, and its climate is fairly similar to here at the moment. The people there are the heart of the Eternal Alliance - we banded together from disparate groups to defeat a despotic ruler, and some of us decided we preferred that to war and stayed together. We'll be touring the base today; I'll introduce you to a few groups, and you can spend some time there, and provided Portalocity is as good as they say, we'll return about when we left."

Their portal came up and she waved them at it. They came out on a platform above the forest jutting out from a building built into the side of a mountain. Some of the people moving around them gave them a second glance; some nodded at Lana, some nodded at guests they recognized from previous visits. Most of the others ignored them.

Lana nodded to them to turn around and take in the view. "Welcome to Odessen. You can opt for a few things here; you can visit the Force Enclave and speak with other Force sensitives; you can visit with the military; you can talk to our requisitions department - which is to say, smugglers; you can speak with our scientists; you can meet with our administrative staff; or you can visit the agricultural section. I'll introduce you to each of them first. Please be polite, but beyond that, you'll find the people here either reasonable, or surrounded by people that will encourage them to be so." Forcibly, if necessary.

“Indeed,” Watts nodded. “Thank you for agreeing to do this with me; it would not have felt right to see all of this without you.”

"Same," Steven said. "I'm glad we can, though. Nice to get to finally visit Lana's home. Sort of works out that Marc and me couldn't go when she first invited us. I'd have hated to not have been able to share this with you in hindsight."

“I would have been incredibly envious,” Watts admitted.

"Same in reverse if you'd gone without me," Steven said. He looked around. "Be interesting to see how different the plants are. If they are. They must be in some way, yeah? Coming from an entirely different world?"

Nobody spend too much time thinking about how any of the people on this trip were able to breathe. ~~Is there air? You don't know!~~

"I'd be interested in trying some of the food and drink," Watts admitted. "Perhaps we ought to stop by that bar that was pointed out on the tour as well."

"That'd be fun," Steven said. "Though I wonder if they know what vegan means? Should probably ask Lana. For all we know they don't eat animals here at all."

Or eat nothing but animals. Or maybe nothing in the food counted as any category that would apply to food from Earth.

“That’s true,” Watts mused. “Drinks are probably safer?” he added with a shrug. “But either way, we also wouldn’t want to consume something not meant for humans,” he realised.

"I'm sure if there was anything too strange Lana would have told us," Steven said. He looked around. "Shame George can't see any of this."

"I was thinking much the same thing," Watts said. "We'll have to make sure we take plenty of photographs over the next few weeks, so we can show him if he manages to turn up for the next visitor's weekend."

Steven smiled at Llewellyn. "Speaking of, shall I take yours? Have it for my picture frame?"

"If you like," Watts said. "I should get one of you as well, if you're amenable." And perhaps someone would be willing to take one of the two of them?

If not they could try a selfie?

"Of course," Steven said. He patted himself down to find his mobile. "You first?"

"All right," Watts said, smiling widely and standing up (just a bit) straighter.

"Right, one, two, three - " Steven said, and took a few shots of Llewellyn to get the ball rolling on pictures of each other all around.
