"Welcome, everybody!" Lana greeted them at Portalocity. She was out of her usual Earth clothes and back into her more usual grey and green armor. "I hope you all got my email this weekend, but if not, you should be fine. Please keep an eye out in future for my mail; I'll be letting you know in general the type of climate and area we'll be going to, so you can dress appropriately.

"Today, though, we're going to Odessen. It's my home these days, when I'm not in Fandom, and its climate is fairly similar to here at the moment. The people there are the heart of the Eternal Alliance - we banded together from disparate groups to defeat a despotic ruler, and some of us decided we preferred that to war and stayed together. We'll be touring the base today; I'll introduce you to a few groups, and you can spend some time there, and provided Portalocity is as good as they say, we'll return about when we left."

Their portal came up and she waved them at it. They came out on a platform above the forest jutting out from a building built into the side of a mountain. Some of the people moving around them gave them a second glance; some nodded at Lana, some nodded at guests they recognized from previous visits. Most of the others ignored them.

Lana nodded to them to turn around and take in the view. "Welcome to Odessen. You can opt for a few things here; you can visit the Force Enclave and speak with other Force sensitives; you can visit with the military; you can talk to our requisitions department - which is to say, smugglers; you can speak with our scientists; you can meet with our administrative staff; or you can visit the agricultural section. I'll introduce you to each of them first. Please be polite, but beyond that, you'll find the people here either reasonable, or surrounded by people that will encourage them to be so." Forcibly, if necessary.

In a new place!

Enjoy the view from the arrival platform. Watch the different people and species pass by. If you've been here before, feel free to greet people you know.

Sana-Rae, a Voss Mystic, is in charge here.

She can help out and introduce you to people. She's very calm and soothing. She has to be; she's leading a group of Jedi, Sith, Zakuulan Knights, people who think all are stupid, and people who subscribe to no particular philosophy at all.

Throughout the enclave are people of different species sparring, meditating, using the Force in various ways, and ~~arguing~~ debating.

Meet Dr. Juvard Illip Oggurobb.

Yes, he's a hutt. Yes, he speaks Basic - turns out most of them can, they just feel it's beneath them. He's a highly esteemed scientist. Science is his Art, and he loves to create. He'll introduce you to anyone here, if you can interrupt his talking about Science! long enough.

In this area, you'll find people tinkering over electronics, inspecting ancient relics, scrutinizing computer screens and holos, working with glowing blue liquid, and teaching a droid to dance (look, scientists need fun, too).

Please don't hang your hat on anything volatile.

Hylo Visz is the one to talk to here.

She's a mirialan and a legendary smuggler; broke the Imperial/Mandalorian blockade to get the Republic supplies during the war. She's no-nonsense and knows what she's doing. She'll smack heads together if needed, but she'll do it with a smile. She can and will corral anyone into helping out with supplies, she can get you into space to salvage debris around the planet, and she'll talk ships for ages.

In this area there's a well-attended bar in the corner, a lot of loud (and mostly happy) voices, people running around and trading things, and in one corner is a jawa doing brisk business in fixing things and inventing new things. He's got an entire corner of pink accessories.

Admiral Bey'wan Aygo is in charge here.

He's a cathar with a long military career as one of the Republic's top officers before he joined the Alliance. He can help you with weapons and more physical activity or sparring if you're not into the Force kind. He can also introduce you to the other head of the troops:

If you're interested in a different kind of military.

Here you'll find people, mostly in armor, drilling, sparring, and barking orders. The traditional military are in disciplined ranks; the Mandos look more like they're having a bar fight, but every bit as deadly as the others.

One floor up, you'll find ranks of offices that, apart from the holographic displays and touchscreens everywhere, look pretty much like offices anywhere. In the corner office, directing it all, is Lord Cytharat.

A pureblood Sith who takes his job very seriously, but will be happy to show you around if it's requested. He might just put you in charge of making copies.

This area is headed by Jedi Knight Nadia Grell.

She coordinates other planets' needs and contributions and keeps an eye on Odessen's own developing farmland, which to date mostly consists of tropical fruits in the lower jungles and grapevines in the colder peaks. Tea is an ongoing project. Don't ask her about their attempts at caf.

In this area, you'll find hydroponics and incubators, people fussing over them, crates of food waiting to go to the cantina and cafeteria, and people frowning at galactic maps.

Feel free to wander! There are huge areas of accommodations, a cantina, a jungle outside, a huge area for ships to land and park, and just about anything else you can ~~mod~~ think of. You're bound to meet someone interesting.

Lots of other people will be!

Please god, don't expect this much OCD every week, but I've got it, I've got the icons, and damn it, I'm going to use them!

Lana was, of course, very busy so Steven was more than happy to wait until she seemed to have a free moment to chat.

"This is all brilliant! Very exciting," Steven said. "Imagine this every week!"

Steven hardly knew where to look first, it was all so exciting.

"I hope you'll enjoy every week," Lana said, smiling. "But this is home, so I've a bit of a vested interest in it. I'm glad you could make it. Is Marc in there as well? If he's decided to sleep through this, let him know I'll be very annoyed with him."

"Read my mind, actually," Steven said. "I was going to ask if you minded him joining time to time while we do this? Didn't want to assume given the different cultures and all."

There was a comfort in finding put that the first stop would be somewhere Libby actually had visited before, and, well...

If she seemed a little awestruck and marveling, still, it was more over that fact that she'd been here before, and was here again! That was pretty amazing, if you asked her!

And having been here before still did nothing to help her with narrowing down what she wanted to do when she was here again now, either!

For some reason, Watts had been thinking they would be traveling via spacecraft, and so the portal was a slight disappointment. Up until he actually stepped through it, that is. Then he was too busy trying to take absolutely everything in.

"Not at all; I was hoping you'd both come," Lana said. "If I ever think it'll be a problem, I'll let you know ahead of time. Here, they're aware I've been commuting to an odd place, and likely won't blink an eye. I might watch out around Darth Nox and Dr. Oggurobb; Darth Nox has experience with ghosts and possessions and might be inclined to sit you down and grill you so long you'll have no time for anything else. Dr. Oggurobb will want to do tests."

"Libby!" There was a wave and a call, and Ashara hurrying over. "I was hoping you'd come. How have you been?"

"Ashara!" Well, that definitely helped narrow down at least where to start, and, seeing the familiar face, laughed a little and hurried to meet her half-way. "Hello! Oh, it's so good to see you! And I've been good! Great, actually! How about you? How have things been here?"

"Busy!" Ashara answered with her own laugh. "I like it; busy means I'm helping. Have you decided what you want to visit today?"
