"Welcome, everybody!" Lana greeted them at Portalocity. She was out of her usual Earth clothes and back into her more usual grey and green armor. "I hope you all got my email this weekend, but if not, you should be fine. Please keep an eye out in future for my mail; I'll be letting you know in general the type of climate and area we'll be going to, so you can dress appropriately.

"Today, though, we're going to Odessen. It's my home these days, when I'm not in Fandom, and its climate is fairly similar to here at the moment. The people there are the heart of the Eternal Alliance - we banded together from disparate groups to defeat a despotic ruler, and some of us decided we preferred that to war and stayed together. We'll be touring the base today; I'll introduce you to a few groups, and you can spend some time there, and provided Portalocity is as good as they say, we'll return about when we left."

Their portal came up and she waved them at it. They came out on a platform above the forest jutting out from a building built into the side of a mountain. Some of the people moving around them gave them a second glance; some nodded at Lana, some nodded at guests they recognized from previous visits. Most of the others ignored them.

Lana nodded to them to turn around and take in the view. "Welcome to Odessen. You can opt for a few things here; you can visit the Force Enclave and speak with other Force sensitives; you can visit with the military; you can talk to our requisitions department - which is to say, smugglers; you can speak with our scientists; you can meet with our administrative staff; or you can visit the agricultural section. I'll introduce you to each of them first. Please be polite, but beyond that, you'll find the people here either reasonable, or surrounded by people that will encourage them to be so." Forcibly, if necessary.

Steven hardly knew where to look first, it was all so exciting.

There was a comfort in finding put that the first stop would be somewhere Libby actually had visited before, and, well...

If she seemed a little awestruck and marveling, still, it was more over that fact that she'd been here before, and was here again! That was pretty amazing, if you asked her!

And having been here before still did nothing to help her with narrowing down what she wanted to do when she was here again now, either!

"Libby!" There was a wave and a call, and Ashara hurrying over. "I was hoping you'd come. How have you been?"

"Ashara!" Well, that definitely helped narrow down at least where to start, and, seeing the familiar face, laughed a little and hurried to meet her half-way. "Hello! Oh, it's so good to see you! And I've been good! Great, actually! How about you? How have things been here?"

"Busy!" Ashara answered with her own laugh. "I like it; busy means I'm helping. Have you decided what you want to visit today?"

For some reason, Watts had been thinking they would be traveling via spacecraft, and so the portal was a slight disappointment. Up until he actually stepped through it, that is. Then he was too busy trying to take absolutely everything in.

"This," Steph said out loud to no one in particular as she leaned on a railing to people watch, "is. Un. Fucking. Real."

“You took the words right out of my mouth,” Watts said in reply.

"It's amazing," Steph said excitedly. "Mildly bummed about the portal, but I guess it's the only way we'd fit this into a single class period, huh?"

“… ‘Bummed’?”

"Disappointed," Steph clarified, looking mildly chagrined. "Maybe let down a little? It doesn't really mean anything major, though. Like... 'oh, they're not open? Oh well, moving on.' That kind of disappointed."

“Ah,” Watts nodded. “Myself as well; I admit I was hoping we would be traveling via spacecraft.”

"Right? I think I did a simulated space trip last summer, but that's so not the same." Steph considered that for a moment. "But! That's an option. There's those holosuites in town, right?"

“I know of them but I confess I’ve never taken a look at how they operate,” Watts admitted.

"Me neither." Steph gave him a sheepish look. "It's all way more technical than I ever get, anyway, but it sounds incredibly cool?"

"I know Marc makes use of them on occasion," Watts said. "But I believe his knowledge of how they work extends only as far as how to call up the specific 'program' that he uses."

"It's more than I know," Steph said. "I know there is a flight and flying workshop, but that's less about having a nice relaxing ride than it is, um, clutching the controls and screaming."

Three guesses how she'd done in that one.

“Perhaps Miss Beniko might know something of how they operate?” Watts mused. “‘Clutching the controls and screaming’ does not sound appealing to me at all.”

Nell quickly made her way over to the warrior women. "It's good to see you'uns again! I've been working hard at home and a friend of mine is going to work with me too."

"Nell!" The women greeted her. "Su cuy'gar!"

Venda came out of the group and held out her hand. "Good to see you in one piece, burc'ya! Is this friend of yours here, too?"

"Still in one piece," Nell agreed with a laugh. And did she blush the tiniest bit? Maybe.

"No," she said, "He's not here, but the other man I was working with is here, though I'm not sure he'll come by." Given that Steven currently had the body.

"Well, bring him if you like." The woman grinned fiercely. "We're happy to take anyone apart."

Nell laughed. "He gets help from a God, not that I've ever seen it happen. But if he shows up I'll bring him over. In the meantime, you can show me how to take someone apart."

Jo’s eyes were wide as she wandered around and took in her new surroundings, she never thought she’d ever be able to be visit another planet before.
