Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day
Even if a new term wasn't starting soon, today would be the perfect day for a picnic. The weather was calm and warm, the food table was full, and there was a respectable amount of glitter on the decorations. There might have been a bigger party going on somewhere else, but here it was time to celebrate the start of summer!

Summer met that question with a lift of her thumb and a long gulp of her coffee.
"Never better," she said, in the tone of a very clear and distinct lie. "M'great. How're you, Stark?"

And then considered who she was talking to and waved a dismissive hand. "Don't worry about it. I'll get some....eventually. I'll....slooowly make my way over there."
Very, very slowly.

Practicing for space barhopping next week?
"There's plenty of food too," Stark pointed out. "If you're hungry. But there's always food. You know that."

"Cinco de Mayo," she explained. "Although I'm pretty sure I did end up in actual Mexico, at some point."
It had all been kind of a blur, really.
Everything still was kind of a blur, honestly.
"But, yeah, no, I am going to slam down so many burgers and slices of pizza at this thing....
"....eventually."
Slow and steady was definitely the name of the game of her entire existence right now.

She didn't make any moves to actually sit, though. Or any moves for anything. The less moving, the better.

It seemed like maybe too much fun. But hopefully in a good way.
"And you didn't even have to plan the party. If there was a party."
no subject
She trailed off, not having the brain to find the word right away.
"Obgregious?"
That was obnoxious and egregious all in one!
"But it was nice to party without needing to plan it. Man, when was the last time I did even plan a party? Your birthday? No.."
She lifted a hand that would have snapped, but she wasn't about to subject her poor head to that much sound from her own body.
"Spring break jello party....right? Wait, was that before or after Purim? Ohmygooood," she groaned, holding her head, "why am I trying to think right now??"
no subject
Especially considering the circumstances. Stark was wise enough not to bring those up.
"That's the best of the trips I've ever been on. You have a birthday, next month. Will there be a party for that?"
no subject
And she'd probably be planning it, too, because god forbid anyone actually plan a party for her for a change. And she made a face at that thought and washed it away with some more coffee and thought that if someone else threw it for her, it wouldn't be as good, so it was probably better she did it, anyway. Except maybe Margo. She'd accept Margo and Eliot being behind her birthday party...
And then she frowned at Stark. "Don't make me start planning parties while I'm hungover, Stark, that's just mean."

There was an urge, being firmly repressed, to pull her into a hug. Maybe kiss her forehead. Offer a bit of comfort because while hangovers weren't the end of the world they were certainly uncomfortable.
no subject
She gave Stark a slightly apologetic smile, huddling around her coffee a little. "Sorry," she said. "I'm a little cranky right now."
no subject
Stark's smile was crooked but it was there.
"I hope it's better soon."
no subject
Because that was, after all, a classic.
"I'll be fine as soon as Lana shows up. If she does."
She was going to be so disappointed if Lana didn't show up.
"Her Force healing for hangovers is seriously the best."

A pause.
"Your hair hurts?"
He could help with pain, a little. Take some of it. Someday he might offer but it felt like too much.
no subject
There was a slight pause, filled with coffee, which she was tragically going to be running out of soon.
"I've been looking forward to it all day."
Forget that she'd pretty much just rolled out of bed and headed over here.
no subject
"I hope she arrives soon then. I'd rather you weren't hurting."
no subject
"Meeeeeeeee, tooooooooooo," said Summer, emphatically, as she drank the last of her coffee and the frowned at the cup that would betray her so completely by being empty now.
"Do they have coffee over there? Please tell me they have coffee over there."
no subject
"There is coffee. I could bring you some, if you like? With plenty of sugar."

But she paused, as she thought about it a little more.
"Well, I'm sure someone has complained at some point, but you get what I mean."
