Autolycus tells both his classes the exact same thing today.

"You're having your finals this Friday in the Danger Shop, so spend this class and the rest of the week revising."

Isabel is doing something involving writing a lot. She could be re-writing all of her notes, or she could be writing a letter to Maria all about Prom. Either way, she looks busy. But interruptions are always welcome.

Angela tapped Isabel on the shoulder. "So what do you think his final will be like?"

Isabel put down her pen and looked up. "Somehow, I don't think it's going to involve essay questions," she said. "I'm definitely wearing old clothes to class."

"Maybe he'll bring the crazy nun in in person," Angela suggested. "I'm not sure whether I would rather have that or paint being thrown."

"I think there's more potential for fun with paint throwing," Isabel smiled. "The nun might be a too wacky even for this place."

"There's a concept, too wacky for Fandom," Angela said. "It would be a very short list."

"True, very true. So did you and Marty have a good time at Prom?" she asked. "I saw you across the room at one point, you looked great."

"We did, we really did," Angela said. "He was having issues about it, but ... I think he enjoyed himself too."

"How was going solo? You looked amazing."

"That's good. And actually it really wasn't that bad being there alone. I got to dance with a bunch of different people." Isabel made a face, "The worst part of the whole evening was probably the golf cart ride. The guy driving it sort of offered himself out as a gigilo."

Angela made a sympathetic face. "The magician dude, right? I hate that guy. I spent, like, 20 minutes yesterday arguing with him because he has this bizarre idea I'm 27."

She waved a hand through the air. "It's kind of along story."

"He was pretty sad, mostly because he thought he was being all suave. Not." She shrugged, "But other then that, it was a nice night. I had dinner with Bridge and Xander in our room before hand and then danced with Anakin, Hawkeye, Jarod, Xander and Sam. So I had lots of fun."

"That sounds awesome," Angela said, a little wistfully. "That's one bad thing about being in a relationship, you can't just dance with people. Well, I mean, you can, but it's more complicated, you know?"

"It was a lot of fun. Hawkeye's a great dancer. Plus he saved me from languishing in the snark corner." Isabel's smile was equally wistful. "That's not something you worry about when you have a date."

"Also true," Angela allowed. "He's kind of cute, too, in an old guy way."

"And very charming, so it was nice in that dance with a father-like person way. But he did tell me we'll be getting some new students this summer," she said. "Maybe I won't have to join a convent or steal dances from everyone else's date much longer."

"You will not have to join a convent," Angela said. "But yeah, new people might be fun."

"Are you staying for the summer?" Isabel asked. "I am. Although I might take a week or two and go home for a visit."

Angela shook her head. "Kind of? I promised Marty a long vacation, and then I might go home for a few weeks. But I should be back the second half of summer."

"Someplace nice I hope," she said. "I don't know that I can go home for that long again. I'm too used to being here now. And even though I love my parents dearly and I miss them a lot, I don't feel like I belong in Roswell the way I feel like I belong here. Does that make sense?"

"It really does," Angela said thoughtfully. "I cou;dn't go back to my old high school. Too much has happened here.

She smiled, embarassed. "I don't even call my friends or my sister that often. It's too hard to explain how things are here without sonding like I went mental."

"My parents don't understand why I want to stay, because all they ever hear about is the times I hang out in the common rooms or wander down to the Perk for coffee," she said. "They'd never understand weetiny bunnies or snow monsters."

"I'm lucky at least, given the whole alien thing, my brother and our friends are at least used to thinking about strange things. But I have to admit, there are times when even they have a hard time believing me."

Angela nodded. "I tell my parents about common room and my classes? But I don't mention weetiny bunnies or running toilets. Or, no offense, but they wouldn't believe me if I mentioned going to school with aliens."

"But it all makse sense in some weird way."

"Angela, my own parents don't even know the truth. So trust me, I understand completely."

"Seriously?," Angela asked, genuinely surprised. "Do they have any idea, or are they just in their own world?"

"I don't know," she said quietly. "Sometimes I think my mom might suspect something. She saw Max heal a bird once, and even though he tried to convince her otherwise, I wonder." Isabel sighed, "I'd like to tell them, but I'm afraid. What if they freak? What if it puts them in danger?"
