Prom Night - Kurt seeks solace in books

*BAMF!*

Kurt materialized in the midst of the darkened library, and walked over to turn on the lights and unlock the doors.. Granted school was not in session so there was no need to be here, but Kurt was a little bored.

Prom night, something Kurt had never had or been too. He tried to push such thoughts back, but he had to admit, this was one of those things that depressed him just a touch. He had never known the joy of the first formal dance that all teenagers had. All teenagers who weren't blue, and looked like a demon anyway.

And so Kurt sat here with the books, and the silence, and sought solace in this place.

Maia and Pippi walked into the library. "Hello?" Maia called out looking around.

Pippi stood next to Maia and looked around at all the books. She didn't think she could ever get used to the sheer volume (yuk yuk) of knowledge in this place.

"Ja?" Kurt did a back flip off the rafter where he had been sitting and reading.

"Can I help you girls?" Kurt smiled as he sketched a small bow.

"Are you working tonight?" Maia said with a frown.

"Ah," Kurt smiled. "Nein, Ich bin traurig. I'm sorry. I was bored, sitting around my room, and so since all of the students were at Prom...I thought I would come here to read."

"Und why are you not at your prom?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

"We were headed down to our golf cart when we saw the lights on. Don't you want to come to the Prom as well?"

Pippi seemed to recall Victor talking about the librarian being somebody he knew and respected from his other school.

"We were just on our way to dinner." Pippi agreed, "Have you eaten yet?"

Kurt shook his head. "Nein, I've been here for a while, und actually was just thinking about dinner."

He gestured his hands at the shelves, and grinned broadly. "These wicked books, alas but they sometimes take control of my time, ja."

"You should join us then!" Pippi said reaching out for his arm. "We're going to Cafe Fina."

Maia nodded "You should it will be fun."

"Is that allowed?" Kurt tilted his head. "Shouldn't you be out with your dates?"

He smiled. "I wouldn't want any jealous boyfriends causing trouble, nein."

Pippi chuckled.

"We are our dates." she said, "And I don't think there are any actual rules for Prom... Except maybe 'don't burn anything down'."

"I like that rule." Maia said with a smile "Always a good one."

"Ach, but here I am dressed as a bum, I am not in fitting kleidung, attire that is," Kurt bowed. "For such elegant frauleins."

He stepped back. "Give me but a moment, and I shall return."

*BAMF!*

He vanished in a cloud of sulphur.

"Never been called an 'elegant fraulein' before." said Pippi.

"Me neither, but I could get used to it." Maia smiled and squeezed Pippi's hand.

Kurt reappeared a few moments later, clad in a dark blue suit jacket, suitable trousers, and a flowing dress cape.

"Ah, much better, nein?" He grinned as he bowed, his tail grasping a top hat and setting it on his head.

Oh... Top Hat... Top Hat and tail... If she were the type, Pippi might swoon.

"Ja!"

Maia smiled at him, "Perfect."

"Well, then I would say that we are all set," He grinned. "So, und where are you ladies taking me this evening?"

It's late - Kiki wasn't even sure that the library would be open this late on a Saturday, especially with prom going on, but she decided to give it a shot. She'd been out for a nice flight in the moonlight over the town, regarding the elegantly dressed boys and the girls that looked like flowers in their gowns from above and had landed on the roof before it occured to her that it would most likely rapidly become a location of choice for spooning couples. She got out of there before that became a reality.

Kiki took a seat at one of the tables and flipped open her books. She had some studying to do to pull off this presentation for Magical Theory.
