Life Skills; Monday, First Period [01/09].

Considering the message that oh so handwavily went out to the students to let them know to bring any dirty clothes they have lying around with them to class today, they should not be too surprised that the danger shop that morning was not a classroom. Not even a little, much to Summer's chagrin. Because instead, it was a laundromat, but, like, a cute, retro colorful one instead of just something sort of drab and boring. Well, it was still a laundromat, but...still! She tried, okay? Without going super over the top like that one in Portugal, or something.

"Welcome back, everyone," Summer said, "and....welcome to the laundromat, I guess."

She took a moment to just sort of shake her head.

"Based on everyone's responses last week," she said, "it seems like there really is a strong interest in learning more practical things, and, well, since I definitely have laundry I need doing..."

She gestured at their current location, as if to let that speak for itself.

"Hopefully, you all do, too, and that's what we're going to be doing today. Tackling laundry, in the modern sense, so if you're used to, like, a washboard and a tub, get ready to have your minds blown. And if you're used to other people doing this for you, whether it be your parents or your servants...get ready to enjoy some of the benefits of adulthood and independence, I guess."

There are definitely moddable piles of random laundry if you didn't bring your own, but, yeah, this is what you guys get today. Laundry. To be fair, it is an important life skill and Summer wasn't exaggerating when she said she needed to get some done, anyway, so, really, this is also a practical lesson in efficiency, too.

Anyway, don't have too much fun washing your clothes, there, kids.

Kurt MIGHT have had a decent pile of clothes there to wash. In his defense, he HAD gotten better at getting it done a little more often.... but he WAS still a teenage boy so laundry wasn't usually high on the priority list until he started running out of clothes to wear.

Belle had brought laundry with her. She had a number of items that were meant to be handwashed. She also had a shirt or two that clearly once belonged to a certain murderous, grumpy, older man. What? They were hers now.

Washtubs and basins had been the way to do things back at GAIA base, not that Beta had come out of her room much to help with anything. And before that, with the Zeniths, everything had been la la mumble some kind of handwavey nanotech something or other. Technology whiplash, one way or another.

So this was... well, she'd been managing so far, largely thanks to looking up whatever information she could find on How To Do Your Laundry. Of course, she didn't exactly have a whole lot of laundry to do in the first place, so... she'd be taking advantage of the class-supplied materials for this.

Gray totally knew how to do his laundry, and he didn't even have that much, between having done it all while he was Pride and then being away over the break (and Galen having taken mercy and done all his laundry for him before he came back).

He did, however, have enough that he fell asleep on it in the middle of sorting. Sorting laundry was just so boring, and the laundry was, though dirty and thus kind of gross, soft and kind of comfy to lay on.

Jo had very limited experience with doing her own laundry and a lot of her clothes usually needed to be dry cleaned.

That said, she did have some things that needed to be washed so she was spending a bit of time figuring out how to use the washing machine.

Vi was mostly used to washing in a sink, even now when a lot of her stuff got tossed in with Steph's laundry, but, like she knew how to use a washer and liked having clean clothing, so...
