Detention - Saturday 4/22

[ooc: Detention is being posted in fandomhigh as usual for consistency, however, detention activites are occurring in town at the Town Hall.]


Lorelai is waiting in the foyer of the town hall promptly at 8am. She's looking longingly at the coffee and doughnuts spread that Luke thoughtfully provided while sipping her herbal tea and eating a banana.

She checks names off a clipboard as people arrive.

"Okay gang. This detention can be as easy or as hard as you make it," she says once everyone has arrived. "If you put a little effort in to getting the work done, you can be out of here in more than enough time to enjoy the prom. If you don't, well, you're only hurting yourself."

Lorelai tapes up a list of information that people might need.

[ETA: I turned off comment screening so that townies who have stuff for helping to set up the prom can poke in. That would probably be best under the Other Misc Decoration thread. Also, StuCo members and faculty who might have need of being involved in set up are more than welcome!]

Parker frowned at the Volcano. "I think it's corn syrup, starch, this stuff called ribena, and the occasional clump of cherry Jell-O. I just hope it doesn't harden on the slopes." She brightened. "Maybe that's why you need an actual fired, aside from the smoke pellets. So it doesn't set." Parker tilted her head. "Fire fun."

"Like I'm going to disagree with that," Bel said with a grin, letting fire start to form in his hand. "So where do you want the volcano to go? Where's the snark corner?"

Parker pointed over to the corner farthest from the bandstand, where a couple undecorated tables were already assembled. "Over there, on top of one of the tables. Looks like the Krakatoa wall-hanging has hooks set up right behind it." She cocked an eyebrow at Bel, then said, "This is so odd. We're talking like normal students getting a Prom ready."

"Yeah, weird, huh?" Bel said. "And I actually had a conversation with Veronica the other day. Funny how things change." He inspected the volcano again, trying to figure out the best way to lift it, then began to move it toward the table Parker indicated.

Parker pointed to a rolling pallet by the door. "That's probably the easiest way to get it over there. There should be some chains to hoist it with by the front door, too." Then, rolling her eyes at herself, "Thanks for helping."
