fandomhigh as usual for consistency, however, detention activites are occurring in town at the Town Hall.]

Lorelai is waiting in the foyer of the town hall promptly at 8am. She's looking longingly at the coffee and doughnuts spread that Luke thoughtfully provided while sipping her herbal tea and eating a banana.

She checks names off a clipboard as people arrive.

"Okay gang. This detention can be as easy or as hard as you make it," she says once everyone has arrived. "If you put a little effort in to getting the work done, you can be out of here in more than enough time to enjoy the prom. If you don't, well, you're only hurting yourself."

[ETA: I turned off comment screening so that townies who have stuff for helping to set up the prom can poke in. That would probably be best under the Other Misc Decoration thread. Also, StuCo members and faculty who might have need of being involved in set up are more than welcome!]

"Well, yes, I am just that good," Callisto grinned.

"I'll have to ask Veronica about that," Bel said. "You two looked like you were really getting into that kiss the other day."

"It was fun," Callisto shrugged. "Is this my cue to point out we weren't the only two enjoying ourselves?"

"Yeah, you were pretty busy that afternoon," Bel said, trying to dodge the comment.

"When you've got it, you've got it," Callisto said. "And Bel, there's video evidence of the boykissy."

"No there isn't," Bel said nervously.

"Bel, there were numerous boykissy loving girls who own cameras there. Video evidence is a foregone conclusion."

Bel tried to regain his composure. "Well, at least it wasn't like I was kissing Logan or something," he said.

Yes, he did do that deliberately.

Callisto eye might have started twitching, just a little. "Pity that, you'd make a nice pair."

Bel made a face. "I don't think so. For one, we kinda hate each other. For another, he's...Logan. Ugh."

"Sometimes, what seems like hate, is really denial," Callisto said.

"I do remember that from the days of finding you and Angelus making out in the closet," Bel said, "but in this case, no. No wonder Logan's single. No one can stand him for long."

"Are you so sure of that? Maybe I should just lock you two in a broom closet to test the theory?"

"Only if you want Logan reduced to a pile of ashes," Bel said. He shook his head. "You'd have to be out of your mind to like him."

"Don't tempt me," Callisto muttered underbreath.

"What's the matter, he do something to piss you off?" Bel asked innocently, catching Callisto's words.

"Oh, no, he didn't do anything," Callisto said in perfect truthfulness.

"Except be his usual lovable self?" Bel said, rolling his eyes.

"Something like that."

"Never will understand what Veronica or Rory saw in him," Bel said with a shrug. "He's such a jackass."

"Some people go for that, no accounting for taste."

Bel nodded. "I guess so. And what can you do other than wait for them to get over it."

"Okay are you trying to needle me or perform some bizzare idea of solidarity?"

Bel blinked, realizing he'd wandered too far from the needling to his own wishful thinking. "What do you mean?" he asked innocently.

"If I didn't know better I'd say you were jealous of Logan."

Yeah, yeah, pot, kettle, blah, blah, blah.
