Detention - Saturday 4/22

[ooc: Detention is being posted in fandomhigh as usual for consistency, however, detention activites are occurring in town at the Town Hall.]


Lorelai is waiting in the foyer of the town hall promptly at 8am. She's looking longingly at the coffee and doughnuts spread that Luke thoughtfully provided while sipping her herbal tea and eating a banana.

She checks names off a clipboard as people arrive.

"Okay gang. This detention can be as easy or as hard as you make it," she says once everyone has arrived. "If you put a little effort in to getting the work done, you can be out of here in more than enough time to enjoy the prom. If you don't, well, you're only hurting yourself."

Lorelai tapes up a list of information that people might need.

[ETA: I turned off comment screening so that townies who have stuff for helping to set up the prom can poke in. That would probably be best under the Other Misc Decoration thread. Also, StuCo members and faculty who might have need of being involved in set up are more than welcome!]

Veronica walked over and smiled at both of them.

"Sure thing, Ms. Gilmore-Danes. Hey, Angela. Where are we hanging them?"

Angela waved. "Hey. Veronica. What are you in for?"

SHe glanced around the room. "She said wherever, so ... I think we should maybe start with some from the doorway. What do you think?"

"Passing notes in ACJ. You?"

Veronica looked around. "The doorway is a good place to start," she agreed as Lorelai walked away to check something else.

Angela looked around until she found a step stool. "Want to start with blue and yellow? School colors and all."

She looked slightly sheepish. "I kind of bumped into Ms. Skeeter and spilled juice all over her. I think she just wanted to be mean. But I can't believe Professor Tick gave a detention over notes."

"That works," Veronica said, grabbing a roll of tape.

"Professor Tick didn't," she explained. "Lockheed did. He got me, Archie and Angel."

Angela scoffed. "At least you can say you got a dtention from a dragon. That's kind of cool."

She stuck a few streamers from the right side of the doorway. "How does that look?"

"Yeah, I guess," Veronica said, looking at the streamers. "Looks good to me." She handed Angela a piece of tape.

Angela took the tape and fastened the streamers up, then moved to the left side with another handful of streamers.

"So did I hear you're going with Archie Kennedy?" she asked. "He's nice."

"Yes I am and yes he is," Veronica said, getting another piece of tape ready. "Though, no matter what your boyfriend thinks, I am not wearing a sailor suit!"

Angela blinked.

Then she started laughing so hard she almost fell off the ladder, and had to grab the side of the doorway to steady herself.

When she recovered, she said, "You would look cute in one."

Veronica rolled her eyes and sighed. "Please do not encourage him," she begged. "He already sent me one."

"You knew he was strange," Angela said fondly, recovering. "But, no. Not for prom. Though maybe for after-prom. And let me know if he bugs you about it."

"What is your real dress like?"

It's only been a week since she and Logan broke up, OMG!

Veronica smiled in relief at the subject change. "It's kind of a gold patterned thing," she described vaguely. "It's not super fancy, but it's comfortable. What about you?"

"Also gold," Angela said. "Halter style on top, and the skirt is tiered chiffon. It's pretty fancy, but no train or huge poofiness."

"Probably," Angela said. "My mom is sending me these antque earrings and I want to show them off. But nothing too fancy, I would just wreck it."

"What about you?"
