Detention - Saturday 4/22

[ooc: Detention is being posted in fandomhigh as usual for consistency, however, detention activites are occurring in town at the Town Hall.]


Lorelai is waiting in the foyer of the town hall promptly at 8am. She's looking longingly at the coffee and doughnuts spread that Luke thoughtfully provided while sipping her herbal tea and eating a banana.

She checks names off a clipboard as people arrive.

"Okay gang. This detention can be as easy or as hard as you make it," she says once everyone has arrived. "If you put a little effort in to getting the work done, you can be out of here in more than enough time to enjoy the prom. If you don't, well, you're only hurting yourself."

Lorelai tapes up a list of information that people might need.

[ETA: I turned off comment screening so that townies who have stuff for helping to set up the prom can poke in. That would probably be best under the Other Misc Decoration thread. Also, StuCo members and faculty who might have need of being involved in set up are more than welcome!]

For anything I may have forgotten. All the balloons, streamers, etc are in the school colors, blue & gold or silver & gold leaf.

Wonka wandered in in search of somewhere to put down his boxes (http://www.jackiesbaskets.com/pages/chocolate_strawberries.htm) down. There were many boxes all piled up, and all you could really see of Wonka was the top of his hat. And his pants and very shiny shoes. Everything inbetween? Red boxes.

"For the students, of course! and possibly at least one Trooper," Wonka thrilled as his shades became visible. "They are chocolates! Strawberry chocolates!"

"Oh!" Lorelai's eyes lit up. "Those sound delicious." She looked around. "Here," she said, leading him to a table. "You can set them up here."

Wonka beamed. "Thank you very much, miss!" He put his gigantic pile carefully down on the table.

The pile wobbled.

"Maybe putting them in smaller piles would be a good idea," she suggested.

Parker's looking a *little* more relaxed, now that the tables are here. "Hey, Ms. Gilmore-Danes. Thanks for doing this as part of Detention."

"It's fun, Parker," Lorelai told her, tossing a small handful of glitter in her direction. "Everything looks gorgeous and I'm sure we'll have everything ready in plenty of time."

Parker laughed as the glitter hit, then grinned. "The Art guys did do a great job with the back-drops, didn't they? Even if Jake and Krycek managed to leave a couple imprints in Egypt," she added, glaring at the Hamunaptra hanging. "Everything got here, right? The ice sculpture guys called and said they'd deliver their stuff and set it up around six. I think they were the last ones."

"Everything is under control," Lorelai assured her. "Are you excited about tonight? Got a hot date?"

"Yes and yes," Parker said, smiling big. "Jarod's one of the bartenders at Caritas. Come to think of it, aside from camping? This might be our first 'official' date. It's going to be trippy."

Parker rolled her eyes, then smiled sheepishly. "Yeah, I know. I'm going home to take a nap after we have this finished. Or I'm going to shake apart with nerves before this evening." She looked over to where Bel was studying the volcano. "Okay, must head off disaster. Thanks again, Rory's Mom!"
