Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day

With classes starting up in a few days, it was time to welcome in the new semester in the best way possible--with warm, tasty food and thankfully decent weather. The sun was shining and it was just warm enough to suggest that spring might really be around the corner. If nothing else, it was pre-gaming for whatever New Year's Eve shenanigans might happen later!

“It was good, no portal related emergencies,” Cutter assured him, “and everyone’s good back home, they say hi,” well not Lester but Cutter figured Connor knew what he meant.

Eh if Lester ever showed that much concern for him, Connor would be pretty sure it was another timeline anomaly at work!

"Glad all went well. And glad you made it back in time for classes too" he added with a smirk. Because really, with Cutter? It was really a toss up if he would show up or not...

Cutter smirked back at that, “I’m even teaching two classes this session if you can believe that,”

"I CAN believe that because I am teaching one of them with ya" Connor said with a laugh. "Gotta be honest... I'm a little worried about it. Don't wanna mess up. Make ya look bad, ya know?" Yes, yes this was Connor doubting himself and his abilities again, so everything good and normal on this end!

Cutter did smile at that, “you’ll be fine,” he assured him, “you have plenty of experience in the subject and there’s a fair chance you’ll be left to cover class by yourself one day, that’s pretty much an essential part of teaching with me,”

He had lost track of the amount of times he had let Stephen take over class because he hadn’t felt like turning up.

"Aye, will do my best" Connor said with a nod. "And I'll try not to let the class turn into too big of a party when you are away," he added with a playful smirk. "It'll be good," he said, truly feeling it was a great honor to be helping with a class alongside one of his role models and closest friends. He and his Cutter had talked about something similar but, well, that obviously had not happened.

"It will," Cutter nodded, "and..." he added, "if it goes well, who knows maybe we'll run another class in the summer?" he tilted his head, "I mean, I'm on an indefinite sabbatical with the university, I don't think they'll care if I'm not around to teach a summer class,"

Since it meant that they wouldn't have to deal with Cutter and his unorthodox teaching methods, they would be glad he wasn't around.

And not to mention that, weird time-traveling events aside, Cutter staying in Fandom meant less chance of Helen sticking her nose into things.

"Sounds good to me. And I'm sure we can work things out with the team and the university."
