Every movie day in a Dr. Aphra class held for Graham that moment of excitement, that moment of hope, that moment of eagerness as he, on the edge of his seat with eyes wide and thrilled, waited to see what the movie was, and if it was what he thought it might be...

"Hey!" he announced proudly, looking like his whole day...nay, his whole week!...had been totally made. "I've seen this one!"

He could definitely quote the lines along with most of the scenes now, even, too!

"Kick-ass strong women, yes!" Charlie said cheerfully.

"And an epic heist!" Graham added, grinning eagerly at Charlie and her own excitement for the film. "It's great! Have you see this one?"

They may have even watched it already in this class! He couldn't remember, they all just kind of blurred together.

"I've seen it a lot, and it gets better every single time!"

"My cousin Allie and I went to see it when it came out," Charlie said. "With some of the Aunties who are also strong kick-ass women as you know."

"Of course!" said Graham, with an agreeing bob of his head. "Some of the most strongest and kick-ass-iest there is!"

Spoken very clearly and firmly and confidently, because Graham felt that, if the Aunties weren't just straight up actively listening at any given time, there were still ways for everything to get back around to them eventually, and he figured a little flattery wouldn't hurt while he was at it!

"You aren't kidding," said Charlie. "Members of Parliament trmble when they havevto deal with the Aunties."

And he was right, somehow things just happened to make their way back to them. Flattery, as long as it wasn't too much, was a good thing.

"Definitely a force to be reckoned with!" Graham agreed, with just the right amount of reverent respect and fear that he felt someone in his position would be smart to maintain.

"So," he then ventured with a grin, "how was your weekend, Charlie? Anything exciting or adventurous?"

Since they'd both seen the movie, he wasn't worried too much about them missing any important plot points if they chatted a little bit.

"I got a ton of Christmas hats," Charlie said. "I'm mailing them home to the family. They'll get a kick out of them. But mostly I was a bum and just lolled around reading and eating some of the Christmas cookies I'd stocked up on Friday."

She demonstrated her lolling about and grinned at ihm. "How about you?"

"I'm pretty attached to my good old adventuring cap," said Graham, grinning a little as he reached up to give it a good pull and adjustment on his head, "but it was fun to try something different for a change! And that's a great idea, sending some home. I bet my sister would love them, too!

"And nothing too thrilling," he admitted. "Training with Triumph, of course. And I gave Kurt a bit of a pep talk on Saturday. I think he really took it to heart, too! At least I hope so."

A successful pep talk was a useful skill for any knight hopeful/potential future king to have!

"Oh? What did you give him a pep talk about?" Charlie asked curiously. "Unless it's private. I know I'm awfully nosy, so feel free to tell me so"

Graham's smile softened a little. "I don't think you're too nosy," he said. "I'd be curious, too! And I don't think it's private..."

He honestly didn't know how to gauge things like that, but her reported on Kurt and Libby almost every Friday morning, so that seemed like it was safely in open territory.

"But he was a little worried about asking Libby to make cookies with him. So I assured him that, one, cookies are never too silly, and that, two, I don't think he has anything to worry about."

"Libby's an awesome person," Charlie said, "She's my Fandom big sister. And Kurt seems pretty great as well. And cookies? That's great! What could be wrong with making cookies together?"

She stopped short and looked at him. "Except not with me. Nobody should be letting me do any cooking or especially baking. I'm kind of a cautionary tale back home or what not to do."

Graham still wasn't convinced that Charlie's baking skills were even half as bad as she made them out to be, but he had to chuckle a little at that.

"Or at least not without plenty of buckets of water close at hand, right?" he asked, his tone a little teasing. He just grinned a little at Charlie for a moment before then leaning forward to whisper conspiratorially, "And I think..." he emphasized the word to make it crystal clear this was all speculation, buuuut.... "he might have a crush on her, so he's worried about messing it up."

"It would take more than some buckets of water to save you if I was baking," Charlie admitted. He could always ask the Aunties if he thought she was exaggerating and they'd assure him she was not!

"Ooooh... really?" Charlie's voice was hushed too even as her eyes sparkled. "Oh that's fabulous!"

"It is fabulous," Graham enthused in an excited whisper, absolutely thrilled that Charlie would find this nice little tidbit of romantic gossip as intriguing as he did, "isn't it? And I'm pretty sure she liked him, too. I am the DM. When it comes to table," here, he repeated the same gesture he'd used with Kurt, spreading out his hands and spreading them wife before him, "I see all."

Charlie laughed quietly. "A little romance," she said. "Good thing I know you and get to hear all the good gossip!"

She considered for a moment. "I think they'd make a nice couple, don't you?"

"Oh," Graham disclosed, with emphasis, "I think they'd make a great couple! They're both so nice and they both seem to really have a knack for adventure and storytelling! And Libby had a nice measured calmness to her that balances nicely with Kurt's big energy, I think! It seems pretty clear, to me, that they like each other an awful lot, too. It's just kind of a shame that they both seem so shy about it, really!"

Not that he'd know anything about what that was like!

"I don't know Kurt as well, but I adore Libby," Charlie said. "And he seems like a good guy who'd be kind to her."

She nodded listening to him. "It's always hard to kno what to do when people are shy."
