Student Council [lunch]

"Prom's on Saturday," Josh said, smiling. "Do we need to start giving the junior class planners oxygen yet?"

He linked his hands behind his head. "Professors Tick, Harrington, and Camulus have agreed to help me chaperone." He pointed at Alanna, Parker, and Elizabeth. "Want to give us an update on what we should be expecting? Or any help you need?"

He spun in his chair. "Anything else we need to discuss? The coffee for finals thing seems to be taken care of. And another game night's in the works, right?"

"Love you too, Professor Lyman." Parker stuck out her tongue at him. "We have backdrops ready to be painted, holograms ready to be projected, ice sculpture on order, balloons that need to be blown up-- in other words, we have the decorations as ready as they're going to be, unless someone ignites the volcano for real."

"...unless someone ignites the volcano for real." says Parker.

Pippi looks thoughtful.

Parker noticed Pippi's look, and buried her face in her hands. "When am I going to learn?"

Pippi grinned at Parker, mission accomplished.

"When will you start decorating? I have to meet people at *handwavy time* to get our nails done, but I could help out before and/or after that."

"Very early. I've been informed or I will be, *handwavey* that free labor has been arranged, so it'll start around 8am or so, and then knock off at 2pm so people have time to go get ready for Prom." Parker smiled. "Thanks for all your help on this, by the way. It really is more than a three-person job."

"Alrighty, I'll see about being there promptly at 8!"

In the middle of StuCo, Parker gets a phone call. She turns white and looks panicky, then takes it out to the hall. "What do you mean they're on strike? They can't go on strike! Tomorrow is Prom! No, you listen, I will sue-- no, I won't sue, just please, please, please--" More explanations, and then Parker finally gives in, looking despairing. "Okay. Okay. I get it. I'm still suing your ass. I'm just not killing you." She hung up, muttering under her breath, pacing in the hallway, then stopped.

And called Lorelai. (http://msgilmoredanes.livejournal.com/1495.html?thread=107991#t107991) "Hi, Ms. Gilmore-Danes? This is Parker. Can I ask you a favor?"

"We've created a program so that attendees can be shuttled between the school grounds and the prom that Peter suggested last week. Has Mr. Bleuth contacted you about the golfcarts?"

"Thirty eight tickets were sold on Wednesday," Elizabeth said. "If anyone still needs to buy, then they need to come and see me at some point pretty soon."

[identity profile] strongestgirl.livejournal.com 2006-04-21 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"How about now?" Pippi said raising her hand. "I need one more from you."

Elizabeth dug in her bag. "Now's fine," she said, pulling out the pile of tickets. "Anyone else while I'm here?"

Pippi was all to happy to get rid of more nasty, icky, stinky, yucky paper money.

Elizabeth was happy swapping a ticket for more money.

"I need two tickets, if you've got them."

"Sure, no problem," Elizabeth said. "Both senior tickets?"

"My date is someone from town, not a student. Is that all right?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah, that's fine. I'll just use senior prices on both, which makes a grand total of $44, then please."

Alanna skimmed through her notes. "Isabel, can you sparkle the tiaras? Elizabeth, please give the election results to the DJ tomorrow morning. Parker, please tell me decorations are fine. Um...photographer, check, art class should have made backdrops for photos, and Mr. Lyman? Who's chaperoning?"

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2006-04-22 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Just bring them by my room," Isabel said. "It'll only take a few minutes."

[identity profile] threeweapons.livejournal.com 2006-04-22 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Alanna kicked at her bag. The bag meowed. "Oh, sorry Faithful. They're in there actually, if you don't mind just doing it now?"

"Nope, not a problem. Just hand them over," she said and held out her hand.

Alanna passed her two tiaras that she had purchased at some point during the week. "Sparkle 'em up.'

Isabel might have gotten a bit carried away. By the time she was done, the crowns looked mighty sparkly. She handed them back a bit sheepishly. "What do you think?"

"Going to be finished during Art Class, Alanna. Don't worry."
