Instead, there was a bowl of candy on the teacher's desk along with a note that said: Which one of you will steal all the candy first?

Because healthy competition in a heist? Always a good plan.

Look, just be glad to have a nice, easy class before the fall trip. Also? Free candy. Who didn't enjoy some free candy?

Graham was just going to take a few seconds to judge the measure of his fellow students before rushing in with a sweep of his cloak in an attempt to just cover up the entire bowl and secret it away into his endless pockets before anyone else got to it.

Dramatic and potentially effective!

"What would happen if I simply asked you for some candy?" Belle wondered. While not mentioning any activities from Tuesday. Of course. Even if the temptation to ask if the bowl were a Grail was quite strong.

"Well, then," said Graham, who tilted his head to think about it for a moment, although he definitely already knew the answer. "I'd give you some, of course!"

Because what was sexier than generosity?

His hand dove into his pockets to pull out a handful of the candy for Belle and held it out to her with a grin.

"Especially," he added, unable to help himself, his grin now practically on the edge of a wink, "since you asked so bravely and all."

Clearly, his self-restraint was not nearly so strong as Belle's.

Belle bowed her head in response. "I would expect nothing else of a king."

Graham ducked his own head, oh-so-magnamiously, but when he lifted it again, he was grinning from ear to ear.

"I am a very generous and giving king," he said, "it's true."

Actually, he kind of thought that Arthur guy was kind of a stuffy jerk and not at all like what he wanted to be if he really was to be king, but that wasn't as much fun.
