Das Schnitzel was back in the kitchen today. She looked as though she still was tiffed at the Chef. Maybe it's because of the "I heart Fettucini Alfredo" shirt the Chef was wearing.

Okay, teasing Walter about the dress was becoming somewhat less fun.

Like, a milliliter less.

"You can help me find a tux, too."

"Oh! Shoppies!"

"Right. What is your afternoon schedule, Pippi? Both Nadia and I are free after lunch. Do you have setup to do for the party? I can help with that." It would beat the hell out of sitting in his room staring at whatever dress he ended up buying.

Weeeell... Pippi had a 5th period class... But... Dress shopping!

"I'm fine to go shopping after lunch. Then we can set up for the pool party after that."

"I can help set up, too." The better to spend more time teasing Walter.

Walter looked down at his waffles and smiled. This was a ridiculous situation, but if forced, with much arm twisting, it was a perfect diversion and he was grateful.

Nadia caught sight of what she was pretty sure was a smile on Walter's face and inwardly congratulated herself. Distraction? Thy name is Nadia.

Sure, if he repressed it enough it would all come spilling out messily later and be even harder to fix, but . . . she'd worry about that, later.

Yes, let's burn that bridge when we come to it.

"We also have to stop by Cafe Fina to get the thing that makes layered food flat and warm." grinned Pippi.

Layered food? What? "And I have to stop by Empire to see about getting money so I can afford a tux."

[ooc: out to lunch, back in half an hour!]

"Let's all meet at Stuff for Sale after you stop at Empire and Pippi and I drop by Cafe Fina."

Hm... "Are we going to eat at the restaurant before going to the prom? If we are, I should probably warn Alfred about... you know, the dress."

Did they have to? It might have been Nadia's only chance to see Alfred have a reaction to something. . . .

"If you want to, sure. I haven't been there since . . . well, you know."

Yeah, he remembered.

"If it has bad associations, we can go somewhere else," he offered, looking concerned.

Nadia stared down at her food, poking at her smooshed waffle. "No, no, that's okay, Cafe Fina is good." It wasn't like it was Alfred's fault her father had turned out to be . . . the person he was.

She looked up and gave Walter what she hoped was a reassuring look. "I'm not about to let him take away one of my favorite restaurants."

Walter nodded and smiled tightly. "Right. Then Cafe Fina it is." No doubt his discomfort in a dress would be enough distraction from her Cafe Fina memories.

"I can just see Wadsworth's reaction..." Thee would be headdesking, if he was sitting at a table, but he wasn't headwaffling like Nadia had - he used too much syrup.

Oooo, she'd forgotten about Wadsworth. That could be fun. He wasn't nearly as butlerish as Alfred.

"So," she said, after taking a bite of her not-squished bacon. "What kind of dress do you want?"

The question could, really, be to either Walter or Pippi.

"I'm not sure. Used to be I'd just dig something out of the attic at Villa Villekulla (http://static.flickr.com/41/81795405_4d0bf17b12.jpg?v=0) when I needed a party dress. But it's rather far away for that."

One that looks just like a tuxedo.

Really, he should stop pouting. He lost the coin flips mostly fair and square. "I'll have to let you two guide me."

Nadia nodded. "Veronica said you should look for something fabulous. Well, she said something comfortable, too, but I'm getting the feeling that there's no such thing as a dress you'd feel comfortable in, so we'll just have to aim for fabulous."

She smiled. "And I have shoes you can borrow, as long as you get something that matches silver."

"I'm sure that you and Pippi won't let me look like an idiot." At least not more of an idiot.

"You will look fabulous. Not like an idiot."

[ooc: oh lord, I dunno. I guess contact Molly and see if she minds us jumping onto that post?]

"Fabulous. Right." Walter looked dubious. "I'll see you there (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/783120.html?thread=29860624#t29860624) then."
