The plane down from New York hadn't taken long, but after all the time in airports, TJ was ready to be done with it all, and was regretting her refusal to let Dad take her in the jet. But nope, she was doing this on her own, no overprotective parents around.

Somehow, she thought the biggest danger here was going to be glitter. The stuff was everywhere. Most of it was concentrated on a huge banner that read FANDOM HIGH, but it never stayed just where you put it, did it?

She wheeled her suitcase over to one of the seats and perched on the back of the seats, tail out for extra balance, and took out her phone to text back that yes, Dad, yes, Mom, she'd made it just fine. And then maybe to whine to Aunt Kate about how she'd had to do that.

Harry had been here a year ago, only it was two years if you were him. He had mixed feelings about being back here, but you know what he didn't have mixed feelings about? The glitter he was trying to get off his shirt.

"Pretty sure that's a lost cause," TJ offered. "But good luck."

"I know," he said with a sigh. "This school is very big on glitter."

"You've been here before?" TJ perked up.

"I was a student here last time," he said. "I went home for the summer."

Sort of! It was complicated!

"What's it like?" TJ asked. "I've only seen the brochures."

"Stranger than most people would think." Maybe not her, since she was blue. "The school is a castle, you'll have a few people warning you about gremlins, sometimes you all have to band together to fight something. The classes are fine."

"My last school was a manor house, and we got attacked on the regular." TJ shrugged. "What's a gremlin?"

"So you'll do fine then!" he said. "Gremlins are little green things that make you hallucinate if they bite you. I've never seen one myself."

This would of course have to change.
