Beginning Sith Philosophy, Friday

"Right, time for the last line!" Lana announced cheerfully. "This one's a bit more difficult to take out of context, particularly if you don't know what the Force is."

The board said, The Force shall free me.

"In Sith - and Jedi," she added with a nod to Anakin, "philosophy, the Force is the name we give the life force of the universe. Everything in the universe is connected via the Force. It exists in everything. Living things generate it, and some can feel it and even tap into it. And before anybody asks, whether nonliving things such as droids can is an occasionally lively debate.

"The Sith conceive of the Force as a power that is there to be used, whether that be to manipulate the world around us or to obtain guidance in future endeavours via feelings and visions. So, the first aspect to discuss today is, if you take that as its meaning, how could that free you? Are there ways in which it might not? And for the rest, whatever power you see as paramount, be it the Force conceived of differently," another nod to Anakin, "or God," a nod to Libby, "How might that free you?"
