Beaker, all of his hair in place again, stood behind the table that was set up with a trashcan full of paper. Next to it: a flamethrower.

Clearly this would only go well.

"Meep meep meep meep meep meep--" Beaker began, launching into a long and completely incompressible lecture about this amazing new fireproof paper he'd helped to invent.

"Meep!" he concluded triumphantly, reaching for the blowtorch and shooting it at the wastebasket.

The paper burst into flame.

"MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!"

The fire suppression system would kick on soon enough.

Travis couldn't watch. He couldn't. He was a fire and emergency professional, he absolutely couldn't just sit here and watch as this strange, felt-y creature picked up a blowtorch --

"It's like a train wreck," he muttered, as he did, in fact, as a fire and emergency professional, just sit and watch as Beaker lit the trash can on fire. "This is what people mean when they say that. I've never understood before."

Really. What the hell did Beaker expect to happen?

Goose was actually glad for his classes today since it provided a bit of a distraction from worrying about Ignis and this experiment was definitely something he could get behind, “oh that is definitely awesome,” he grinned, he definitely couldn’t wait to try it.

Goose had definitely not understood that it was supposed to be about fireproof paper.
