Choose Your Own Adventure: Tuesday, 3rd Period (5/17)
Everybody was back at the Community Center today, and this time there were spiral notebooks laid out at the tables for everyone along with an assortment of pencils, pens, and colored pencils. Steph was once again sitting on the front table and kicking her feet back and forth, this week in a sleeveless black t-shirt that said "Roll for Panic Attack" on it.
"Soooooooooooo, it looks like the high fantasy setting just edged out the nautical one," she said, looking slightly apologetic. She'd kind of wanted to bust out that pirate costume again. "But it is a classic choice for reasons. We're talking unicorns, giants, and dragons here, people. Swords and magic and epic adventure, courtly intrigue, the works."
She had a feeling at least a couple of people on the roster would feel right at home there, too.
"With that in mind, everybody grab a notebook because we're going to get into character creation this week," she went on, clapping her hands once for emphasis and grinning her infectious, not-quite-maniacal grin of excitement. "For starters, what's your character's name? What's their background -- a simple farmer, maybe, or a knight, or the village healer? What kinds of skills have they learned from their life experience? What's their social status? Then start thinking about what really drives them. Revenge? Riches? Doesn't have to be anything huge. Maybe they just want to make it to this one shop in the kingdom's capital to get their grandmother the perfect birthday present. Not everybody has to be a hero, but if that's what's gonna make you happy here? Go for it, dude. We're here to have fun."
She held her hands out in a reassuring gesture. "I know that might seem like a lot, but that's just for starters. We can dig deeper into character details over the next couple of weeks, as we build out the world and get a sense of what kind of adventure we're going on. Bounce ideas off each other if you want to here, or ask me for help if that's more comfortable. And once I have a better sense of what kind of characters you all are going to give me to work with, we can start planning out the kind of adventure we're gonna go on."

Re: Character Creation/Brainstorming! (LARP Project, Week 2)
He was going to be a knight! Sir Graham of Daventry! Rescuer of maidens, defeater of dragons, bane of evil wizards and enchanters everywhere!
So with that part easily settled, he was sort of wondering what he could do to make improvements on the character. Like maybe if he could add wings or something. Maybe he could breathe fire! Maybe he spent years in the underground infiltrating the Goblin Kingdom and learning their ways and their methods, before his brain started to wonder if maybe they could do an adventure with goblins! Or maybe a magician turning people into goblins! Or a goblin turning people into magicians! Yeah, that might work! Oh, oh, or he could...
Most of this was entirely going on in Graham's head, though, as he nodded along as if agreeing with himself and jotting down at least a few ideas, which was probably a good thing, because once they figured out how to move from his brain and out of his mouth, there was a good chance it wouldn't be stopping.

"Ohhhhh, maaaaaaan!" he gushed out. "I can't wait to get started! I've never really had a job</> before! Do you like it? Is there anything else really important I should know? What if I mess it up and ruin everything?!?"
Was that last part meant to be said out loud?
Hard to tell, honestly.
