Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2022, Early Saturday Evening

There were normal traditions, and there were Fandom traditions, and having this party get started right around dusk was definitely a Fandom tradition. As the sun went down, the finishing touches of decorations were made; the lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, and there were chairs set up for all of the graduates, along with plenty of seats for guests to come and watch. There were more people here than usual with families, alumni, and the island's latest guests, but that just meant having more folks around to celebrate the graduates. Surely, that wouldn't end poorly.

Congratulations, Class of 2022! You made it!

With everything Astrid had been through, it did feel like kind of an accomplishment to have actually made it to this point. Four long years, riccocheting between Fandom and California with plenty of trauma sprinkled in between. Her mortarboard was, of course, painted from corner to corner, in a motif of white oleander, as she walked across the stage to recieve her diploma.

Okay, it was pretty great that Sabine actually got to see Astrid graduate, even though that looked nothing like her.

She'd still cheer obviously.

And it was pretty great that that was someone there to cheer her on as she graduated, so Astrid couldn't help but smile a little wryly at that, notching a little salute toward Sabine with her rolled-up diploma on her way off the stage.

One thing she was definitely going to miss the most about this place was their room, even if she tried not to think too much about how those murals probably weren't going to stay up too much longer now that they'd both be gone. She might hold out a little hope, though, that whoever wound up in their room next might actually appreciate them.

Huh. Illyana had never imagined in a million years that she'd ever graduate from an American high school. Let alone in a situation where she felt safe to be herself.

Which was why as she strode across that stage, she was wearing both her forms. Horns curling out of her blonde hair and sorcerer's cape worn over her graduation robe to float behind her.

She was absolutely going to hold up her diploma triumphantly, even if Wong, Strange, and Clea hadn't been able to make it. Something something world-ending.

There might have been an excited cheer that erupted from somewhere in the audience as Illyana walked up and got her diploma. And it wasn't hard to figure out who, considering there was only one blue mutant at the school for the time being.

Vi whistled and clapped as Illyana crossed the stage.

Re: Troy Barnes

After a while, when it became clear that Troy was not even here to recieve his diploma, Astrid came rushing up to the stage and announced, "Ummm, I guess I'm also going to accept Troy's diploma in his absense as his....partner in radio, I guess?"

She thought she'd heard something about him sailing off with some actor on a yacht, which meant she wasn't sure how she'd actually manage to get it to him, but, if anything, she liked the idea of just slipping it into a bottle and chucking it into the ocean to see if it found its way to him somehow, and she felt he would also support this method, as well.
