Fandom High Graduation Ceremony, Class of 2022, Early Saturday Evening

There were normal traditions, and there were Fandom traditions, and having this party get started right around dusk was definitely a Fandom tradition. As the sun went down, the finishing touches of decorations were made; the lawn of the school had been lit up with blue and gold lights, and there were chairs set up for all of the graduates, along with plenty of seats for guests to come and watch. There were more people here than usual with families, alumni, and the island's latest guests, but that just meant having more folks around to celebrate the graduates. Surely, that wouldn't end poorly.

Congratulations, Class of 2022! You made it!

Grab a seat, greet some guests--no one pre-gamed, right?

It had been over ten years since Liz had had her graduation ceremony and it was mostly nostalgia to see what this year’s ceremony would be like that she decided to attend. She certainly never imagined that she would be back again and several months pregnant with Hellboy’s twins that was for sure but sometimes it was nice to get out every one and a while for a change in scenery but she was making sure to take it easy and not move around so much.

Goose did not think it was strange that he was shirtless at a school graduation ceremony or that it was strange for him to be shirtless as a teacher at said ceremony for that matter. Then again Goose rarely factored in things like that when he was normal … or as normal as things got for him. As he waited he tried to think of some recipes that he could attempt to cook without making even more of a mess of his kitchen than he had already over the last couple of days.

Well. At least there was hardly anything surprising about the shirtlessness, especially knowing Gladio had been similarly (and also unsurprisingly) affected in that way. Beyond that...feeling a little guilty he hadn't checked in sooner, Ignis made his way over.

"Shane," he greeted with a nod and a careful consideration of any signs of alterations, "I don't mean to just drop in on you here so unannounced, but I hope you're....feeling well?"

He felt that was a delicate way of asking without actually asking.

But at least he didn't appear pregnant.

Goose eyes were wide as he realised who was talking to him, “you ….you’re Ignis!” he let out a squeak, “I’m a huge fan of your TV show!”

Well he wasn’t pregnant at least?

At least he wasn't pregnant.

Ignis almost felt like he should have almost expected this. Barely holding back a sigh, he pushed up his glasses and stated, "Ah, yes. The TV show. Of course you are...."

“I love trying to cook your recipes!” Goose gushed, as if this was a completely normal conversation to have, “I’m not very good though …I managed to singe the walls of my kitchen the other day,” he told him.

Because Ignis definitely wanted to hear how Goose had almost burned down his apartment right?

The thought of all that lost progress in Shane's culinary development was quite possibly the most disturbing part in all of this, really.

There was a pause, as Ignis seemed to decide whether he truly wanted to know the answer to the question he was about to ask.

"And what, pray tell," he cautiously ventured, "recipeh," hey, look at that! He said the word!, "lead to that result?"

Goose beamed at that, “oh it was the creamy spinach in stuffed bacon,” he said enthusiastically, “I had a bit of trouble flipping the salmon in the pan though, you made that look so easy,” well Ignis was a chef Goose that was the point.

"Well, of course," said Ignis, almost blithely, because, apparently, he just could not turn it off, "it's just a matter of making sure it's properly cooked on the one side and that you've use enough oil to prevent sticking before you do it. Patience, as always, is key..."

Goose blinked a bit of that, “oh,” he stared, “I tried flipping it straight away,” of course he had, “and then that didn’t work and I sent the pan flying and it hit the wall,”

The attempt had been a disaster, he had been lucky not to burn the apartment down.

"....ah," said Ignis, who really felt he should not be surprised, but he could at least be disappointed...but then had to remind himself that things had gone a bit...Fandom. Apparently, Shane forgetting everything he'd been taught was Ignis' own 'pregnant with daemon twins.'

It would be an interesting discussion, between him and Prompto, as to which was worse.

"Yes, well, typically, you want to also keep the pan on the stove in those instances..."

Goose stared at Ignis for a few moments as he tilted his head slightly, “Oh …I should have done that shouldn’t I?” he blinked. “I’ll remember that for next time!” he said brightly because that was what Ignis wanted to hear right now.

"...Are you sure you'll even survive the next time?"

Ignis.

It was a question out of genuine concern, though, despite the dryness of the words. He did actually care for this man a considerable amount, after all, and it would be a shame if his apparent cooking show lead to an untimely demise during one of these weekends.

“I mean I’ve survived worse,” Goose considered, “I think I should be able to survive my cooking,”

It wasn’t a competition Goose.

“Why?” he looked at Ignis with wide eyes, “do you think I should stop?”

"I think," Ignis offered, "that perhaps you just need...some guidance."

In fact, he knew for a fact that all Shane needed was steady guidance from a patient instructor, because they'd already done that already, but okay.

“Oh I would like that,” Goose said as he thought about it, “even though I don’t know anyone who would want to guide me in cooking,” he looked a little disheartened at that, “at least anyone here, maybe if I was home Doc would,”

"Well, it just so happens," said Ignis, feeling almost as if he was being set up to say exactly these words for this specific intention, "that I have made a career," apparently!, "on such instructions, you know."

Ugh, Summer was sooooo glad she was able to get time off work so that she could make it to the graduation ceremony! So she was stoked to be there to cheer on her soon-to-be fellow alumni and record it all for posterity and Instagram.

Libby had spent the day packing up and getting ready to be completely written off in the morning, but she definitely wanted to say long enough to get to see a graduation at a real school before going back to Tennessee. She knew she'd be finishing out her education back at home again, but maybe she could take at least a few notes to make her own 'graduation' a little more like this one.

She really had no idea that she would be completely fine with not replicating how Fandom High graduations tended to go.

Sabine was here, so she might as well come to graduation. (She had only been gone a year, right? She knew at least one graduate?)

Besides, it kept her mind off whatever was going on with girlfriend type people.

Stark worked at the school, when not being attacked by wildlife, so of course he was here for graduation.

And he needed to see what happened at this year's ceremony. It was always something. And he'd already attended a wedding today. What was one more event?

It had been several years since Naomi had been to a ceremony so she decided to attend the ceremony since she figured she was visiting Fandom, however unexpectedly and she didn’t know when the next opportunity would be.

"Yes! Marvelous! Class of 2022! Absolutely wonderful! You can do it! I believe in you!"

Sidon, the ceremony hadn't even started yet.

Vi was mostly in still on a mood from yesterday, but since she had friends graduating today, here she was.
